I just had a long conversation with my glass Guy and we can do the Gen 2 Cobra R hoods.

We would need a total of 15 orders at $579.00 each plus s&h and crate fee to do a mold. It would take 60 to 90 days to complete.

I am just testing the waters here and I am sure as was with ALL our past projects like this that it will never happen but I had to just check and see if the Gen 2 Guys do more puttin' up then talking.

why cant we have a better hood? I hate the "Cobra R" look need something better like a dual ram air or heat extractor hood

Its more from a business stand point that the Cobra R is a good staple style.

It's a Ford Style to begin with, rolls with the Mark lines perfectly and looks like it could have been a factory hood etc, etc.

Would a scooped hood look better, more or likely yes, but will it sell? Yes it will but far less then a more universal appeal style of the Cobra R.

Im inclined to agree. It would be nice to have a different design for the 2nd Gen.

Maybe i'm just screwed up upstairs (more than most), but I thought it was supplying products that customers want to buy which makes things good "from a business standpoint"?

OK let me explain in a "more clear" way.

YOU like a scooped hood, I spend 6k to make the molds and the first run of 10, you buy ONE, I now have 9 more to sell.

They do not sell because the Majority wants the industry standard hood, so now I am out $5400.00 get it now?

I understand, Geno. But three people have "indicated" some sort of an interest.

Joey,
Jibit
Klutch.

Out of these three, one we don't know what he wants, while the other two indicated interest in a different design. That's 2/3 of the people interested so far.

If I may humbly suggest, if a bunch of people start being interested, put up a poll later on, and see who wants what kind of hood out of a couple three choices. Then you make the hood the majority wants.

IMHO, it's better than making a Cobra R hood, and only having 2-3 people buy it, whereas the majority of everyone else would have bought a different design.

But what do I know...

i am guessin u dont know as much as him becasue he is the one makin and sellin the hood to you.

I would consider the custom hood, but in a different design that the Cobra R.
It just doesn't work on the 2nd gen car.

i have a gen 1 and a cobra R hood and i love it... i think they'd look pretty good on a gen 2 as well.:Beer to geno on makin the effort to make more cool things for mark viii's.. he may not be the only one in the world with hook ups to have hoods made, but he's one of very small percentage who's workin on ones for lincolns lol. i paid close to that price for my hood used on my Gen 1.

I think Geno will respond that "interest" in a product is very different from actually being will to drop several hundred dollars to buy said product.

However, if you were to say, if at least 20 'interested' people made a $150 refundable deposit prior to him doing all the leg work to develop such a hood, you'd probably convince him.
