GEN 2 with LSD?

i would love to do gears, maybe 4.10's, but i do way too much hwy driving and am afraid of getting even worse that my 18mpg's i get now

18? on the highway? your car sucks............. too much gas

I get 24mpg avg and thats a mix of highway city country driving

well when im in town, i usually drive it like i stole it, and i'm not too light on the pedal on the hwy either, on a long trip if i use the cruse control i will get around 24, I also use my remote start a lot and that contributes to it a lot i'm sure

just like when i got my K&N, i will probably want to keep my foot even farther into the gas lol

Tune helps mileage alot. The gears seemed to drop mileage only a little bit. Believe it or not I believe my 20s lost more mileage than the gears.

Just thought I would post in my own thread, just bought a trac-lok. I found a gen1 at a junk yard that still has the rear end, going to pick up the axles and carrier soon.

dont you have to have a car to put these parts on first :shifty:

i kid, i kid.

but seriously though, are you ever getting your car back?

I was waiting for someone to call me out on it :p

Should be home any day now this or next week.

The anodized pieces came in last week, they said the intercooler looked good, but the intake pipe looked alright. They were going to polish it but I said not to because I was going to have it powder coated black, so the polish wold be pointless. When I sent the intercooler to get anodized, i just told them to take the intake too. I forgot it wasn't polished so all the imperfection showed with the ano. Brake issues were resolved and are ready to be installed.Completion is very close I can taste it

I hope not! That would suck because then I wont be in school and I'll really feel the absence of my ls.

One of the bearings in my diff went bad (ended up being the pinion bearing) so I figured it was the perfect time to do a LSD swap. Picked up the differential, housing, and axles for a gen 1 from a wrecking yard and a Ford 8.8 trac-lok off Craigslist. I had a shop put the trac-lok in the housing for me. It took me an evening to remove the old diff and axles and another evening to put the LSD and gen 1 axles in.

Gen 2 on left / gen 1 with trac-lok on right.

Just for kicks, gen 1 on left / gen 2 on right.
