I have had my mark for about 3 months now and I notice the bulb on The drivers side is blue and the one on passenger side has a little bit of a yellowish tint to it, Does any one know where I can find the hid bulbs, I would prefer even going with something even more blueish. Any Thoughts on going after market instead? Thanks.

They are no longer being produced. You either have to find one on www.ebay.com or buy a headlight conversion kit. Check with 5 Star ford on the conversion kit.

First post in the forum, and you're selling HID's:confused: Who are you? What kind of Mark do you have? Let's see some pics of your Mark.:shifty:

four cam looks like it may be my good old friend Ed, the same one selling on ebay under 6886dana. seems funny , new member, selling bulbs, says you live in sand key, which is clearwater, hmmmmm?

Mannieg, I would not spend a fortune on used OEM ebay bulbs as you have no idea how long they will last. The retrofit kit from the dealer uses halogen bulbs, not HID's.

I would pull one of your headlight housings out and see it you could use a common size HID bulb & make your own adapter plate to secure it in place. I know that it can be done, it just depends if you wanna spend $500 bux for one someone else made or if you wanna spend $90 bux on new aftermarket HID's with ballast & then fab up your own adapter plates.

If you can handle this yourself then I would find your own cheaper solution, If it seems a bit to complicated then maybe I can help you & we could figure something out. I have always been good at fabbing things up & getting them to work while still looking good.

Your factory HID's are 4300K, If you want a tiny bit more purplish color you could go with a 6000K or 8000K for a blue color. 4300K will produce the most usable light though. I have 6000K HID's in my car if you would like to compare them sometime.

Good luck, Rich

rich i have 6000k's in my black 93 also, and my green 93 has factory hid's in it and the 6000's are brighter look at this pic. factory hid's on the right, my 6000k's on the left.

They both look pretty good! Isn't it true that the higher up the kelvin color scale you go, the less usable light output? That's what all of the HID websites that I found have said. Maybe the 4300K & 6000K are pretty similar, or maybe it's because of the older stock HID's vs. the new HID's??

I think that one thing is for sure though, if you get the 8000K (blue) or the 12000K (violet) then you will lose light output.

I do agree about the picture above though. You must really like mark VIII's!

thanks for the tip I will take this into consideration, I like HID's specially the blue ones.

4300k produces 3100 lumens
6000k produces 2900 lumens
8000k produces 2500
10000 -> 2300
12000 -> 2000

This is from the japanimportshop ebay store that we got our kits from

Does that kit fit a gen2 , or is it just for the gen 1?

no its for a gen 1 with stock halogen housings, not hid housings, the hid bulbs in thesekits we bought is based as a 9005 base, so its just pop in and twist and your done.
