so what's the consensus on the best way to go once one of your HID bulbs go out. Get DLF's adapter kit and get 2 9005 HID bulbs off ebay? Is that all you really need?

Use 9006's

And you need more than just bulbs, you need an entire kit with new ballasts.

The car calls for 9005s right? What is the difference between a 9005 and a 9006? Never seen the 2 side by side before, was just wondering.

Gen 2's have 9500 HID low beams and 9005 halogen high beams, which I beleive is what the Gen 1 HID cars had also. The 9006's have a slightly larger base diameter that fits the hole left by the 9500 bulbs better.

If you're upgrading earlier cars with 9005 halogen high beams, then yes, use a 9005 HID kit.

I used to get confused too by the 9500 vs 9005 thing. All Marks that have factory low beam HID headlights use an obsolete unavailable from anywhere 9500 bulb. Not the 9005 bulb. The 9006 fits best in place of the 9500 bulb, that is why most conversions use the 9006 bulbs and not the 9005 bulbs.
