gen 2 exhaust pics

Hi guys.I am new to the forum,so heres my first post.I just bought a 98 mark viii base model with 56,000 miles.Last week I changed the trans filter and fluid while I was under it I saw the the very small single exhaust with its 4 cats,resonator and 2 mufflers.I know the LSC has a true dual system so I went to my local upullit and found a 97 LSC with a shop bent system with 2 1/2 inch pipe and double x-pipe and stainless oval mufflers.The cats had ben cut off so it was easy to take off in one peice,two nuts and three hangers it was off.The double x-pipe looks to be a factory peice,did LSCs come with one?Because it does not have a resonator will it have a drone?I kinda like the quiet,but I know the single systen is holding it back.BTW I got the mark to replace my totaled 96 cobra,so I love performance.THANKS

that what my system looks like except mine was cut off at front hanger,and the xxpipe has sheet metal formed all around it like a stock peice.Is it very loud, does it have a drone?

no mark VIII came with 4 cats or factory X pipes. they only have 3 cats on them. it may drone, it may not, usually X pipes help cut back on interior drone but its not a sure thing. i had a dual 2 1/2 done to my 98 lsc and drone lol?? like putting your head inside a vacuum cleaner, made me feel like crap after long trips. but i didnt have any X pipes just straight through.

still have a question,will the double x-pipe stop the dreaded drone everybody talks about?

I have the LMS double X and with 3.73s the only dronne I get is under light accel at about 60MPH and 1800-2000 RPM. Once you are at speed and just maintaining it the drone goes away mostly. You learn pretty fast how to manage it with your right foot. But man does it sound good the rest of the time.

I <3 my LMS exhaust, it woke th car up and it sounds like an M, quiet until you get on it and wake it up. well worth the $$

P.S.: Geno Im going to need new mufflers soon, hahaha I've almost murdered the ones I have.

I had a single homegrown X pipe (mufflershop made it) and it had drone in the same place as you descrive.. 1800-2000 under light tip in acceleration..

I'm keeping the stock exhaust on my new car, for quite along time.
Running over 300K with loud exhaust got to be a "drag" literally after awhile.

NOW.. I'm enjoying the stealth of the stock exhaust and hearing the 32 valve symphony from under the hood, which was drowned out by my magnaflow exhaust previously.

Exhaust was alot of noise for not much gain.....IMHO.
Been there, done that.
