Hi guys. I am getting the grill and all front trim monochromed next week. I don't trust the guy to remove my bumper so Im just planning on taking him the pieces. (plus it'll save $ on labor). Anyway, how do I get the bumper and grill apart without tearing stuff up?? Thanks

Remove lights, chrome strip/rubber and the screws in each fender, and along the bottom. There are IIRC, two nuts on each side behind the turnsignals in the fender and several more bolts for the upper grille.

Grille is screwed to the bumper itself and cannot be removed until the bumper is off the car.

i did not have to remove the headlights when i removed mine just corner lights

The grille is actually riveted to the front bumper cover on the inside.

you sure? the 3 ive taken off have all been held on with screws

but first post sums it up pretty good but im not trying to sound like a dick but i fing it funny you dont trust the guy to remove the bumper but yet you have no idea on how to do it.

My red and green 94's had bolts on the grill to bumper.

I didn't remove the headlights either, you do on the Gen 2 though.

There were also some push pins under the bumper and one rivet in the middle to a little bracket I think?

I pull the headlights in order to release the "tabs" easier... Not strictly needed, but for a first timer...

My grille, and the replacement after I broke the first, use screws...

Thanks guys. Sounds like a piece of cake. Now how about removing the air ride pump? I'm on coils and the pump is toast anyway
