Gear Selector

So Im on a mission to find another gear selector for my Mark. I had the button pop out about a week ago. Ive went to a couple of yards in my area and none of them had black gear selectors. Now my question is if I take it off the car at the yard will I be able to get the button out of the gear selector and just put the button in my Mark?

If you pull the clip on the front of the shift cable and pull up the handle, and the button will usually pop out. In your situation, you just need the button, not the whole handle. You can prob use either a black button, or a chrome one.

Sweet! That will make life a lot easier. It would be a cool score to find a chrome one but right now I would just be happy with a black one that does not get a mind of its own and shoot out when it wants to. lol

you have a first gen, the button isnt supposed to come out of a first gen shifter handle, if it does the plastic retainer at the end of the button is broken, and you cant fix it, 2nd gens the button is removable but first gen shifter buttons arent supposed to come out of the shifter handle.
