That looks cool, but what I would do on the speedo is spell out Mark viii on the bottom and put a lincoln star up top. JMO.

workin' on it... 8k rpm, Mark VIII, and 160mph will be added...about putting the lincoln star on top, i have to leave that out because of limited spacing the star would look too small

Hmmm... I am undecided. I would have to see them in action in a Mark to see how they would look. I like the ones that looked like OEM Navi or New mustang guages the best so far but thats just my opinion... I'm not dragging Ray anywhere :)

I am just stoked my thread has ballooned into more than one page!!!

It would be nice to retrofit something similar to the MKS.

I wonder if they could be used, and set inside a custom cluster? Anybody know enough to say?

A car is only as old as the parts that are in it.

Well I read a lot and don't really put my two cents in so hear I go... This only thing I see wrong with the stock gauges for example on my Gen 1 is that they look to much like the gauges in your standard run of the mill Ford. Why not make a set of gauges that on the tac you have Cobra and on the speedo you have the Lincoln star maybe between the turn signals you put Mark VIII in the same font that the Mark VIII badge is? Or maybe Mark VIII across the bottom. But all and all make it look more on the luxury side of things not the rice side of things. I don't want a side of rice with my Mark VIII! lol

I got the following idea for one from one of my cars. I thought about a full on LCD dash cluster.

I sat down with a Chinese manufacturing rep and talked to him about it. Extremely High Contrast, non reflective, custom cut to fit the contours of the OEM cluster housing, 3 video inputs (rearview camera, front facing IR camera plus a spare video input ((I like spare stuff))), 3 USB ports and a trackpad with 2 buttons. Running embedded Linux.

Price for 1000 units? 1500 per unit. The most expensive part is the custom cut LCD and enclosure and software development.

The software development part would be a pain in the arse. Another option would be to run a video out from a DashDaq unit. But that doesn't support (I don't think) video inputs. I also don't think the DD can display (read from the PCM) such things as hard wired lights like the "brake" light, ABS light, etc. The plus here is that they do have the hardware/software already developed. They even have a skin editor, so the artsy types can make their own OEM looking gauges if they want.

the 8k tach and 160 mph speedo would be nice but does anyone know how to change the tach in the pcm so it reads correctly either way i am not going to 8k and not going to be going 160 mph so either version would be great. i am definaly in for thepurchase
