the other point to remember - if in fact the PCM has to pull timing to prevent knock - you loose performance and likely mpg. So although you may have savesd a bit at the refill pump, you lost some performance mileage.

+1 that would be the main reason i dont use regular

well i got me an stp octane booster for the gas that was in there and after that im just going to start putting super 91. As for the cel coming on i dont know why, the car is running fine it has no miss, ping or knock. one thing i did notice was that when i would put regular the car would kill the gas quick and ever since i added the booster i get more mpg's and last night i disconnected the batt reconnected it this morning and the cel hasnt came on anymore. I guess the cheap regular walmart gas i was putting was affecting it.

My friend that sold his '00 LS here about a month a go would get a check engine light with 87 octane, put in 91 and the CEL would go off. Just use the premium!

regular gas is not good for the LS..it makes them feel sick LoL
