do u know which fues to look for the ones on the side of the drivers door or under the hood

Are you kidding me... How do you need help finding a blown fuse???

I have no problem helping people, but if they aren't going to even try and help themselves first why not be snippy... I was always ridiculed by the more knowledgeable people around me when I didn't know what I was talking about, guess that's just what I'm used to when it comes to cars.

dude, what is your problem??? snippy answers, got nothing better to do? geezzz...try to HELP, you do this all the time.

Brandon aka K.K is a great help...

Seriously, finding a blown fuse isn't that hard of a task.
owners manual shows fuse locations, if you dont have an owners manual they can be readily found online with a little research.

Unless your looking for someone to go take a picture of the fuse panel and circle the particular fuse in microsoft paint..

If that's the case then we'll need to know what year your car is, and what color baby food spoon you like.
(grins a joking smile)

Year model would help greatly in your question, looking at your username your car MIGHT be a blue 94, but.. I dunno for sure.

if he is new to the mark VIII he might not have even known where the fuses are exactly, man people jump on everyone way to fast on here! i think we need an lvc kegger to calm everyone down!!

Man, i hear that-just try to HELP people, not scold them like they are some little kid that annoys you-that's supposed to be the point, to HELP people-it's not like he asked how to change the tires, or fill the gas tank, he MIGHT not have a manual for fuse locations, and the Wise Axx answers are annoying-just let more patient people (thanks Jamie) try and help out, while your in third-grade teacher mode, go on craigslist and correct someones grammer/spelling, will ya?

:D :) thanks:rolleyes: ;)

I see something in both what Brandon said as well as Jamie. Brandon, the fact that you were ridiculed when you were new was wrong. But your arguement is kind of like saying well I was bullied in school so I am returning the favor. I know from reading your responses you have learned a tremendous amount of knowledge about Marks. Much of it I'm sure by your own hard work. For sure, there a few here that write in that may just be lazy. But until you see some kind of pattern, is it right to just impulsively judge? People have learning disabilities, some just are not mechanically inclined. You all have helped me a great deal. I have learned by reading almost everynight. But at my best I couldn't hold a candle to your skills. I think we would both make and keep more members with a little more friendliness and a little less sarcasm. We love these cars. I have always felt it best to give the other guy the benefit of the doubt. You have helped so many people, why not continue to be the asset you are? Gary in Elmira, NY.

I'm saying I was always ridiculed in all car related areas I went to, on the net, in the shop, on the streets, at shows, etc... I always been around people that like to make fun of the guy that knows less... as a result I've worked hard to learn more...

Maybe I will try and be a little more personable, but I can't help being sarcastic sometimes.

Dude your fine people need to relax a little...the kegger sounds sweet though.

You help people all the time its hard not to get short somedays.
Some people need alot of help when your on the fifth time answering the same question because somebody cant do a search its gets trying.

Hell you even called me frogman before :D

I noticed..

1. the original poster declined to add the required information so "anyone" could help him.

2. people that could probably answer this question in their sleep would rather bash those that actually WERE trying to help the original poster, but chose to bitchslap others that refuse to spoon feed people.

3. (tosses baby food spoon in the garbage)

use the search function, since you wont answer simple questions.

4. closes microsoft paint and deletes the scanned image of the fuse diagram I had..

I "was" waiting for the required/requested information..but screw it.

Back in 99 when I bought my first gen there was very FEW websites that were mark 8 related.. and if you asked a "noobie" question you were quickly sent a link to the "search" page, which more times than not didn't work.

There were no mark 8 dismantlers such as Jamie or KustomizingKid who spent long hard hours taking these cars apart to give us mark 8 owners and ALTERNATIVE to super high stealership prices.

What did we do???

we "looked" for the fuse panel!
We "found" the fuse panel!
and..we used a voltmeter in "continuity" mode to FIND the blown fuse.

WE probed wires for endless hours checking for current draw and for shorts.

we used our brains and investigated things, we didn't sit around waiting for someone to "do a write up" on "how to add air to the tire".

to 94blue8: this isn't directly aimed at you.

If you need any help..I'll PM you my cell number.
my girlfriend has a 94 and when I get to work tomorrow I'll see if her owners manual is in the car.
Shoot me a PM and I'll get you the info you need.

wow guys i see that my question wasnt really answered. but ill give u more information, the car is a 1997 mark viii the message display is out of a 1994 mark viii which is my old one.NO im not new to this i assumed that switching the message diplays would not be a problem should it be, if so i need to purchase a new one does that make more since? would that cause the fuel gauge to malfunction?

I dont "think" a 97 message center is the same as a 94.
They have drasticly different functions and I dont know if a 94 message center control will "drive" the 97 message center or vice versa

I dont think your dealing with a blown fuse issue in this case, probably just "not the right/compatible" part.

Jamie would know better than I in regards to used parts interchangeability.

Sorry I couldn't help more

Well that's an important bit of info 94Bllu8... I would try putting your old non working message center in and see if the gauge starts working again.

i dont have the car anymore the car was totaled out and the insurance complany bought it back and replace it witht he whte 97

You don't have what??

SO you have a 97, and you put the 94 message center in correct?

Where did the 97 message center go?

I'm in.. I'll host another one in July of 09... Oh Bradnon.. are you 21 yet? LOL

Maybe I will try and be a little more personable, but I can't help being sarcastic sometimes.

I met the Kid this past summer ... he's fun and decent person but you just have to get use to his sarcasm... It must be a MN thing LOL...

I agree sometimes tempers go when a responce that was suppose to be funny or cute is taken wrong. That's the problem with typing.. Mabye we need more emitions to post with our comments LOL..

Frogman... I personally know Frogman... and your no Frogman...:D LOL...

I don't think anyone else could get away with saying the things that Frogman does... no one...

There is only one Frogman.. and you never want to mess with the Frog... I don't care how buff you are my money will always be on the Frogman... ummm... if you ever plan taking on the Frogman come with an army:rolleyes: .... I mean a real army not just a bunch of rednecks or street thugs...

correct the 97 message display was put back into the 94 and the insurance company picked up the car before i could tack it out again .....

The message center itsself may have shorted the circuit out giving you a busted gas gauage. I noticed this on mine.
