Fuel filter location

2005 LS V8: Traced the fuel lines and cannot locate the filter. I went from where the lines come out by the tank, along the frame rail up into the wheel well to the vapor tube. I have a manual and it shows assembly but nothing that identifies the location clearly.

No, it does not. Getting those poorly designed quick-connect connectors to disconnect is a huge pain, even with the tools for it.

I did mine in about ½ an hour, too. The disconnects are pretty easy once you get the hang of them. No need to pull the wheel, either.

Funny, it went pretty fast for me (less then twenty minutes or so). I didn't find anything to be poorly designed about the fuel connections.

Not tryin to add fuel to the fire but yeah it takes about 30 mins.. Hardest part was getting the wheel off.......

it takes less then 15 minutes what are fuel quick connects? i use eyeglass screw drivers haha

The '03+ needs a special disconnect tool. The pre-'03 uses a simple plastic clip. with the clips it is a pretty easy job. The disconnect tool can be a bugger to use to release the spring!

thats what im talking about, it takes longer to take off the wheel then to actually replace the fuel filter, i just have the simple plastic clip so 15 or less and theyre so cheap, i replace 1 or 2 times a year

My 2005 didn't need a special tool to disconnect the lines from the filter. There was a locking tab that I squeezed with my thumbnail and it popped right off. The fuel that came out the a$$ end of that filter was NASTY too, after only 45k miles.

Taking the wheel off makes it easier. Since we have this ethanol blend crap my filter has more nasty looking fuel come out of it.
