It looks like the button just pops in the door panel from the top. I havent actually fixed mine yet (Im just too lazy).

mine clicks when I hit it but won't actually open til I've hit it atleast a dozen times

i bought one from team ford earlier this week and it was easy to put in you just pop out the old housing than unplug the button and connect the new one. viola

Like SickMark* said- just clean and lube the door hinge and lock plate. It fixed mine last winter, been fine ever since.

When i bought mine it had the same problem. Thanks to you guys i used wd-40 and sprayed a good coat throughout the mechanism and it opens on the first time now.

another problem solved by WD40, lol.....ill try it on mine tomorrow, feels like im double clicking when i try to open mine :D

The button on mine fell out. I put it back in and it worked for a while, but now it doesn't even click. Is there another way to open the door without the button? I need to put gas in it.

There is a manual fuel door release cord inside the trunk, on the right. If you can't see it, pull back the carpet - may have fallen behind.

The spring on mine has actually rusted away, Max do you sell just the spring that is attached to the door?

Hi Mafioso

I need the year of your mark. I have the 93-97 but the 98 is different. Your profile is basicly blank so that was of no help. The spring is a small piece of spring steel behind the latch retainer held to the door with a small bolt. The 93-97 one is a F3LY-6328608-A lists for $8.67 and LVC is 6.50. The 98 is a F8VZ-6328608-BA and lists for 9.25 and LVC is $6.94.
