Hello All,

A quick question regarding replacing the front rotors. Any tips? Unlike rotors I've replaced in the past it does'nt appear they slide off. The part that holds the pads is in the way.

Any help is appreicated!

Take the wheel off. Take the caliper off. Hang the caliper from the strut with a bungee cord so you dont snap the brake lines. Take the rotor off. Put the new rotor on. Put the caliper on(it might be tough if your new rotors are thicker but it will go on). Put the wheel on and wa-la, you are done.

(the rotor should slide off if the caliper is off)

I dont think I have ever seen a rotor that just slides off?

Wheel off then caliper off then caliper bracket off then slide off rotor. Make sure you clean and lube the caliper sliders good.

the caliper mounting bracket has to be removed before the rotor will slide off. It's held on with two large bolts to the spindle. The bolt heads face the inside of the wheel well - they can be a bit tricky to get to - as you go through a hole in the spindle.

make sure to use thread lock when re-installing.

Success! Thanks eveyone for the comments and help. Got the job done right before the rain started here in southeastern PA. That annoying pulse when stepping on the brakes is finally gone!
