Is there no aftermarket air struts for our cars anymore? I know Eddie is working on some but they are more money than I want to put into this car at this point...

go to a junkyard pull them out and compress them, the people at most junkyards are idiots, look at it and have no idea what you have, i got a set of front ones for 20 bucks

try strutmasters to see if they have any left on the shelf.
Or try suncore industries too.

There is a chance I will be going the OEM route soon as it would be a shame to have a new front end with 89K mile struts.

Arnott stopped selling their air shocks due to inferior parts from their suppliers, so I heard. I was pretty sure Suncore was still selling the old Arnott style shocks. I am crossing my fingers that my Arnotts last a while longer. So far they're doing fine. OEM may be the only way to go for the forseeable future. Guess I'll start saving up.

Meh, when mine go out I'm gonna bite the bullet and buy a brand new pair of OEMs. Only need one damn kidney anyway.

SO what is everyones opinion on arnott? are they junk or nott? i have no experience with air, I have brand new arnott everything on the car i am about to be driving

Autozone sells Westar units, front and rear
Gen I&II (F-D) AS-7300 and (F-P) AS-7301. $215.99
Gen I&II (R) AS-7023. $133.99
It looks like they are using the old Gen I style shock, and listing them for all years.

Advance auto parts has an arnott rear shock absorber kit, including upper mounts for $155.99. P/N SK-2225 .

Are the stock front air shocks interchangeable between gen 1 and gen 2?

Reason I ask is because I've read people's comments that the gen 2 shocks were a much better design.

That's what I did. Put one new OEM on the passengers side a little over a week ago and the drivers side is ordered. Gen II style and should last 10 years or better. Already have an extra pair of rears and the compressor is a little over 2 years old from Eddie. The new air shock I bought was made in 2008 so that tells me that they could be fading out, little by little until they're discontinued. Figured I better get them while the getting was good.

I was hoping to buy a pair of OEMs over the winter but things did not work out as planned and I bought the Capri in my signature. Then this week my winter beater started to tell me it was going to die soon and a 2001 Maxima fell into my lap for $500.00 bucks so I had to buy that.

I have a used pair of front OEMs that look good so I am going to clean them up and try them out. I only need them to get me through for this season and then I can buy a new pair of OEMs from Eddie In December when I get my bonus at work.
