Friend's new M6 (pictures)

Nice rides, the M6 is the CEO's company car at Applied Systems(my place of employment), license plate reads "APPLIED"

Original and still the best M6.:)

Nice to see a shot of your M6 George. I recall you talking it up when we met. Looks very nice. Classic BMW!

E24 M6 is a very very cool car. There are so many nice older BMW models that I would love to own. 3.0CS for one, E28 euro M5 and some other goodies.

Don't forget the 'full fat' Euro spec version of the U.S. E24 M6 - The M635 CSI and the 'full fat' Euro E36 M3!

7's are my personal favorite, but only E32's and E38's.

Not a bad car. I've seen quite a few around here. I did pass a Mercedes SLR last week.... that thing was SICK!!!

That car is sooooo LOUD damn! I want one!

Sorry, maybe its the phone video but that sounds like crap. For that much $$$ i wouldnt want a car that sounds like a ricer, which it does in that video. I dont understand buying a car of that caliber and making it sound "loud". Not impressed. Think my brothers Dinan 335 sounds better. Frankly after going back and looking at the pics again i dont like the looks either, the Shamu comment hit the nail on the head. I'd much rather have a M3/M5 over the M6.

That's because of the phone man, look at the videos on the first page.

V10's do have a funny sound to them though - even a stock Viper sounds sh!tty at idle. (to me at least)

It just doesnt sound to me what a 500+hp car should sound like, then again alot of exotics (lambo, viper, etc) dont sound all that great either. For some reason the best sounding cars have always been Mustangs, especially the older 5.0's. The Mustang has always had a nice deep growl that is very unique. Both my old Trans Am's had a nice deep sound but it was still very different than a Mustang.

the BMW X5M and X6M have 555HP btw

Oh yea those are gonna be some sweet engines, especially the one in 760LI with it's 544hp V12. I drove an 09 750i and that turbo engine really pulls that big 7.

Okay, 2 things:

First, you have it backwards. Ricers try to get their civics to sound like that M6 in the first videos posted, not the other way around.

Second, show me a quiet 500+ hp vehicle that performs. It's a by-product of adding power/ removing restrictions.

My comment using "ricer" is that it didnt have a nice growl, more of a whining, just my opinion. A Vette has a growl, that M6 whined. Also, if your gonna drop $100k on a BMW i wouldnt think you'd want something that is loud. Its a performance coupe but its also ultra high end luxury. I think there is a fine line between luxury and power/performance. There have been plenty of Top Gear episodes that have insane hp cars but the cabin is still peacefull and quite. Its the best of both worlds, a car that performs like a rocket but is serene to drive.

In regards to 500+hp cars. Alot of the high end...lambo,ferrari,lotus, have more of a whine to them instead of a growl. Even the Bugatti Veyron has a very odd sound too it. Everyone has their own taste and desire. I'd rather use the $100k to have two high hp cars than one M6.

Drove the M6 again today, it's sooo badass!!!

driving a red F430 next sunday, can't wait.

Going by this logic, a F1 car is a ricer since it sports a V10 with a whining sound rather than a growl like a Vette.

I give it one maybe two more gens and your example car will begin to sound more like a formula car also as they start to utilize more of the technologies the V10 f1's sport as well.

Those BMWs are like driving a stripped down F1 with all the luxuries a high end street car should have. If not dead on its close to having the best of both worlds!

Witness one of those cars put the Vette in its place and see how much of a difference it makes.

Also, no ricer and even some of the better versions of rice will ever sound like that.
