It says its only for 2003 and 2004 Lincoln LS but I didnt know there was a diffrence in the engine from the 2000

The 2003 and up had the VVT motors with 280HP
2000-2002 had the non-VVT motors with 252HP

Im sure you can swap with this motor, but then its the issue with wiring and computer that becomes a huge PITA!!!
 
Damn well im looking for a new engine does anyone know where I can find a 2000 LS engine thats not gonna cost me an arm and a leg....

anything is possible with $$$ - but this is not an easy swap.
- the PCM is different - uses the CAN protocols in 03+ - meaning the databus communicating between the various computers (FEM, REM, ATC, ...) are all slightly different
- cooling hoses, throttle cable/wiring are all different
- the fan was hydryalic in pre-03 - electric in 03+
- the trannie in the 03+ is a slightly different model
 
Thanks 00ls sport but I was looking for a brand new engine!!! I was do you guys think that would be more then 5 grand?
 
You may be able to buy that engine and swap over the parts off yours so you don't have to deal with any PCM or programming issues. It's also possible you can disable the VVT so it's a non-issue. I know a lot of the guys playing with the new 3 valve engine are disabling it on the dyno. This sounds like a great price for an engine. I would do some research to see what's needed to make it fit your configuration. If nothing else, I'll bet you could freshen your heads and use the new short block...then sell the VVT heads.
 
i can get you a new drop in engine from ford. retails for $4309.33. would cost you $3447.46. could meet you halfway perhaps too, to save on shipping.

edit: i can actually have it drop shipped to you instead.
