FL-218 vs FL-2021 oil filter

Owners manual for my '03 V8 says FL-218 but I've searched old posts and it seems that some peeps say the FL-2021 is the correct application....which is a shortened version of the FL-2008 for clearance on the 3.9

any input...

Thunderbird forum members say FL-218 for the 3.9
