First video's of Sunday's Drag Racing

Congratulations, Don! :) My nephews race their turbo Mustangs at Fayetteville all the time. Maybe one day we could get everyone together and have a track day!

A question for you Mike if I may. I know you now have a manual shift program but I remember watching a older video of your car at the drag strip. The one with the guy sweeping the track in front of you while your heating up the tires. I remember at the end of the track yours seam to shift into high gear or lock up the converter (not sure which) but it seemed to drop out of the power band like it shifted or locked up to soon. But all the lower gears seamed to shift at just the right time. I ask this becaue if you watch the video of mine it is doing the same thing. Could you enlighten me on what is happening and do you know of any solutions. Thanks, Don
 
I posted in your other thread too. Lockup is controlled in the tune. Your tuner will need to spend a lot of T&T data log time at the track with you to get it right by moving the lock up rpm around, and what gear it actually locks up in, to see what works best for your car.

I think the video you are talking about shows my lock up in third. That has been changed with the manual shift tune, but it does show how lock up can pull the rpms down in 3rd. You might try to have lock up completely turned off to see if that helps too.

I have been doing this best lock up sequence search for years with Aric, and not finished yet, but he finally has everything going in the right direction where the et is lower and the mph is higher.
 
DOn just curious what exactly do you have done other than the S/C just wondering if mine will be close to as fast as yours I thing I'm gonna run mine at the track once before I put the smaller pulley and intercooler on I'm hoping with those and the cobra intake manifold I just bought to break in to the 12's, also how much HP and torque are you putting out

Mine was identical to yours except I have a 3800 stall converter. Now I also have installed the 3.33 pulley that you also got and instead of a intercooler we went with the meth/water injection. I am very happy with it.

If I and anyone I know had a N/A Mark that ran 12's I and they would frame it and copy it and post it and mount it on the wall. It would be in Guinness. So not only do I not believe it everything he has said and done since my saying I don't believe it just supports my belief. Your the one that keeps making me repeat it. I tried as nice and politly to say do you have proof this dosn't sound right.

Sorry I almost missed your question . It's fine Its a blast to drive with the 4;10 gears and the stall. I only get about 21 MPG on the highway though but some of that lose is the supercharger. Because of the lock up the rpm's are not very high on the highway.

what is the average speed you drive at on the hwy and what are the rpms at that speed?
 
Don Ithink I'm going to end up doing that water meth setup you have, have you thought about using that RC Nitro fuel in your mixture I have some in my garage was wondering if you had ever heard of anyone using it
