First oil change since I've owned her!

Thanks for the info. I've been using the Pennzoil high mileage 10w-30.

When I switch to the 5w-20, what's a good one to go with and is there a need for high mileage? I have 175k+ miles.

Im pretty sure ford would put 5w-20 blend if you took it to them.

Dont you need a compressor to run the fluid pump though?

I took the car for a vigorous drive down a back road to make sure all the seafoam cleared the vac lines, and it was probably closer to a third than half

Nah, just a regular hand pump. You only have to pump fluid from a bottle into the fill hole on the back.
Disconnect the cooler lines at the front and run to a bucket.
Run the engine briefly (10s or less), refill trans, repeat until fresh fluid starts coming out.

The fill procedure really isn't that bad. Just make sure the car is level. All I did was aim the car downhill (on my driveway) and drove the front end onto ramps. Done!

Be very careful with this procedure. If you ever accidentally let the transmission run dry while pumping the old fluid out, you will lose several times the savings from doing this instead of using an exchange machine.

Yes. $30 well spent cause save you lots of headaches.

Actually it was $17 well spent!

Got it installed today amazingly without removing anything but the intake. Clearance was incredibly tight for removing the tensioner bolt but after a couple hours I got everything sorted out and the unflanged pulley is now a flanged one.
