looks nice all blacked out! did you paint it yourself or have it done professionally? was it chrome to begin with?

Cool! Looks awesome. I especially like the price. I bought the prepainted LSE surround for mine. It was just a teeny bit more expensive than yours. :slam

That does look good. I've been thinking of trying to get mine painted since it's the only chrome on the car at this point.

thanks for the complements, means alot. i got it painted from my painter here at west county auto, they do some good work. if u want to do it yourself greyghost has instructions on how to prep and paint it. i recommend it, i love the look. i may be able to get more, om me if ur interested

Did you buy that just in case you messed up or is there a decent possibility of damaging it when taking it off and on?

I was thinking about just taking mine off and having it painted someplace.

i bought it because of a couple reasons
1. in case i didnt like the black, i could throw the factory one back on
2. it was cheap, and if i messed up the original one id have a back up
3. in case i messed the other one up
taking it off wasnt hard, i just wish i would have know that there are 3 clamps on it. i cracked one. and the one i got painted didnt have any so i had to use some silicon to hold it tight on the car (cant tell at all).

removal... pull the carpet liner off. theres a bunch of bolts that u take off. there all easy to see and get too. the if u look in the holes up by the top of the surround ull c 3 clamps, r, l, middle. just use a flat head and kinda push it, but not hard theyre cheap plastic. any questions feel free to ask

cool. I'm gonna have to check on paint quotes and get this done soon.

Look on ebay before you do, I've gotten several perfect ones for about 30 bux total, the $4-$10 versions typically come pretty bruised and need repainting regardless.. The same guy sells all types of parts in bulk from junkyards he sifts.
