Hi, I'm Duckytoos' girlfriend. He's in jail and said i could ask you guys for help. I hope he's right. I took his car in for a diagnostic and found out there's a crap load more wrong with it than we thought. They told me there's something wrong with the valve covers and oil was leaking and shorted out like 5 spark plugs and i think 3 coils. They were gonna charge $1600! So his dad and uncle are gonna work on it but they mostly work on older cars. So i was wondering if there's anything we need to know beforehand as far as complications, tips, etc. Thanks!
 
normal stuff

buy all new coils and plugs, don't waste time just replacing a couple of coils. replace valve cover gaskets. If its a gen 1 early model v6, replace the PCV valve and rubber elbow under the intake manifold too. keep track of what screw goes in what hole. the gasket kit comes with new screw gaskets, use them too. see articles in tech article section for details

Go to the top of the page, under TECH ARTICLES, go down on the left to the Lincoln LS portion and under changing the coils on plugs for whatever your working on V6 or V8, should have the information you need.
 
Aren't certain years covered for this by Ford? If so she can just take it in and have them replaced right? They wouldn't just replace the coils and not the valve cover gaskets would they?

There's more than 150k miles and its only covered up to either 100k or 125k. My boyfriend had some other coils replaced before but the dealership said they can only replace them as they go out.

that poll was between rollin and me. (no homo) i was the newbie, he was the pre-mod. it was more of a competition, who can manipulate the most fake votes and win, we had over 120 votes between the both of us... theres not even 120 members active on this site-hahaha

my only intention was to win and because of sore losers, i lost my title. it is immature to care about who wins LSOTM and what color a LS is.... I wasnt even on this forum 2 weeks before I entered LSOTM, so its typical to break the rules being the new person, but i still never figured out why all the LVC veterans had to lower themselves..

TUBD huh? Was that supposed to offend me or do you just not know how to spell? It may have been a year ago but your comment above proves that you clearly haven't learned from your mistakes and proves that you truly are a low life douche bag. A member told his girlfriend that she could come here for help with a car not to get hit on and harassed by you. From what I've seen from Rollin throughout the years I can guarantee you that he wouldn't create fake accounts to vote for himself because he's not that big of a loser. If you want to talk about immaturity you need to look in the mirror because anyone who cares enough what people who live clear across the country think about his car on some internet site clearly has some personal issues.

I didn't expect you to read what I replied because that would actually require some reading comprehension skills of which you are clearly lacking. It's quite obvious that you are the one that is getting emotional bringing up your false justifications for the worthless bull:q:q:q:q you pollute this site with.
