Falken FK 452 or Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta?

Read good things about both and can't decide. My head is spinning from all the reading and reviews the last few days.

The Vredesteins come in a 255/35-19 (which I would like for the rears), where the Falkens come in what's currently on my 19s all around - 245/35, no 255/35 from what I can find.

The Vredesteins supposedly run a little narrower, so my thinking is get two 255/35s and if they're not that wide, test them out on the front and go a little wider out back, maybe a 265 or so.

Give me your thoughts.

Oh, I also here a mix on size. Some say they run true and some actually say they run large.

Link for the Vredestein? JWerner recommended those a while ago, and now I am looking into purchasing a couple for the rears.

Keep the same tread pattern on all 4 corners. You want the same traction capabilities at each tire.
 
Just bit the bullet on (4) 245 35 19 Vredestein Sessantas. $800 with shipping/tax from Group A Wheels.com. Decided on all four the same size for a couple of reason - easy to rotate and didn't want any potential clearance problems with 10mm wider tires out back.

Guess I'll be the LvC guinea pig.

Pics/reviews when I get them on.

I was wondering where to purchase them from.

Problem is, I have 245/40s on the fronts that don't need to be replaced yet. Hankook Ventus, I believe. Maybe I'll swap those to the back, and replace the Bridgestone Potenza run flats (one of them had a tiny bulge when they were delivered, and I'm kind of afraid to drive on it) with something like these.

I'm interested to know how they fare, Tommy. I'll wait to purchase tires until I hear how these perform.

I cant believe people started to vote for the Falkens.

Falken is a great company but sometimes you need to think about something new.

I really think those tires will turn out to be a great buy NYC. They look bad ass but I heard nothing but very good stuff about them and they really know tires if you looked into the site.


Those Nittos look really good also but I have a feeling the Vredesteins will be a good deal!
 
Yeah, I keep reading a lot of good things about them which is why I finally clicked the "buy now" icon. I'm still reading about them, just to see. Hopefully now I can stop reading because my head hurts. lol

I have Falkens on my 17s now, the ZE512s. They're not bad for what they do, that's the reason I was considering them again. I may just have to give the Vredesteins a look for a winter tire for the 17s as I hear that and motorcycles are where they've made their name.
 
European cycling is also a big game for those guys.

They have nice and aggressive street tire looking snow tires also which I think is cool.

Dunno when I'll get around to having them put on, but they make a nice dining room center piece. :D
 
Those great looking tires, I was considering them but when you go thru tires once ayear, it's too steep a price to pay. They seem to run wide, so do they?
 
Kinda hard to tell. Haven't had the time to get them mounted yet - and luckily these aren't going to be on the car all year. I'll be getting rid of the Falkens that are on my stock 17s and putting winter tires on them, so hopefully these should last decently.
 
Got them mounted during my extended weekend on Monday afternoon. Forgot to put them up against the Pilot Sports while they were getting swapped, so I'm not sure which way they run.

It's been rainy here the last few days, so I've had some seat time in that aspect. These things hook up in the rain like nothing I've had before. I gave it 3/4s throttle yesterday and the tires did not slip one bit. Compared to the Falken ZIEX512s that were on the stocker 17s and that's a big improvement.

They seem to ride nice as well, but that is probably just because they're new. Little bit of road noise, but I can live with that.

The guys at the shop I brought them to were asking about them and the owner Joey was considering bringing them into his shop to sell. He's a big Formula One type racer that has records at Jersey Motorsports Park or whatever it's called, so he knows his tires.

Anyways, here's a quick cell phone shot in the garage at work. Don't mind the car since it's been crappy around here lately.

Word up.

Only bad thing is the rookie kid put one of the ones that was on the back last time, on the front, so I've got a wicked shimmy at 65. :(

And I noticed last night that the paint is bubbling and peeling on the back side of the spokes of the wheels. Guess this coming winter I'm really gonna have to send them out to get re-done. :(
 
Hell yeah! I knew those would be a killer summer tire!
