Fair labor rate for Trans swap..

:I and no connectors have to be trimmed. Shudder is coming from the TC, not a solenoid.

I researched this and the shutter and neutral drop at stop lights is the quick engament and dis-engament of the TCC solenoid causing the actual shudder feeling...as well as sometimes stalls at lights is because the TC is not unlocking as its not supposed to be engaged at all in first gear tobegin with.. its putting too much of a load on the engine trying to multiply torque in a very low range. I have been told and now I could be mis informed as I am in no way a Tranmission expert, that this is caused by a bad TCC solenoid, one that is going defective. This is also occuring on the highway when the TCC is engaging at 35Mph or better. giving that shudder feeling on highway travel.

Why are some of you in the thought that a repin is bad?
Is the only reason because, if the repin is not perfect it can destroy the trans and ECU? If the repin is perfect and correctly setup would this not work or be as durable for the future? I've looked at the documentation and figured out the repin it seems to be very straight forward in my opinion.

Here is what I have...

re-Pinout for a 96 to a 98+ trans, Keep inmind that the internal solenoids for 96+ are all the same except for Connector...

Old Connector New Connector
Pin # to pin #
1 Moves to 7 Shift Solenoid #1
2 Moves to 4 12V+ Power
3 Stays on 3 TCC Solenoid
4 (unoccupied) (Now Used by) Pin 2 of older config
5 Stays on 5 Trans Fluid temp
6 Moves to 8 Shift Solenoid #2
7 Moves to 9 Unused 12V+ (new Connector not used)
8 Moves to 10 Unused 12V+ (New connector not used)
9 Moves to 2 Signal return
10 Moves to 6 EPC Solenoid

Now If I'm correct, there were 9 wires in use on the 96-97 Trans and in the 98 with the incorperation of the circuit board connections, there are only 7 wires as they now (SPLIT 12V+) from one power lead inside the transmission now istead of having 12V+ to each solenoid as in the 96-97 trans. So in short out of the (3) 12v+ leads only (1) gets used the other two get burried into the trans connector in positions that are no longer utilized. Pins 9 and 10 on the 98+ transmission.

Bill, all I'm saying is to make sure the re-pin is correctly done if that's the route you're going to take. Another "good mechanic" also re-pinned a trans for Tommy and to hear Tommy tell it, he drove home in 2nd gear because the re-pin was not done correctly. It doesn't mention that but that's what Tommy said.
