My car has had the airbag light on for about a year, never bothered me. The code was 3-2. Even after the light was on I could always raise the volume on the radio and change stations from the steering wheel, but 4 months ago the actual raise volume button broke, the just the raise volume button broke. It wouldn't click, the volume down would click but now station wouldn't change, nothing would happen. No radio controls would work from the steering wheel after this happened, or I don't know if when it happened I went crazing pressing the volume up button trying to get it to work, which caused the up button to break. Anyway, I have always thought it was the clockspring.
Today I changed the steering wheel, my old one was fading and I wanted to fix the radio buttons. I didn't have the money to change the clockspring, so I was going to do it next week. I got the steering wheel on there and the radio buttons on the steering wheel work and I can change stations. Everything seems back to normal.
But now the airbag light code changed. Now its 3-6, not 3-2. Could this still be clockspring?
