GenII: Changed the alternator today, and decided these big black nuts that hold the "Intech" cover on looked ugly.
My paint was flaking off and exposed he corroded aluminum underneath, so I tossed them into the chuck of my drill and ran them over some sandpaper; 220gr and 320gr at low speed, 1500 and 2000gr at high speed, then a buff with some rubbing compound and a coat of polyurethane (to keep them from corroding again). I got a mirror finish in about 5 minutes.
