Do any of you know any other engines that will fit into the 2000 LS V8 with no problem besides the exact same engine.

I need a new engine for it since I had a slow leak from my raditor that started to mix in with my oil. Thats what the auto shop just told me.

Any help would be great and how much you think they would cost.

Take it to a second shop. The only place a motor can mix oil and coolant is through leaky intake or headgaskets (or like the Mark VIII, the oil filter adapter gasket).

Thanks NYC ill do that. It would be a shame to lose that engine I have because I was going to put a Cold Air Intake on it.

But like some of my other threads Its been having problems overheating and shaking while idiling.

So ill have another shop look at it and if they tell me the same thing then its time for another engine and I would love to put a sup'd up engine in it but gotta find out what will fit into the engine bay.

I've heard a skyline engine will fit but you might have to do some rewiring and shaving for it though. Correct me if i'm wrong somebody.

Ton of work to get something else to work in an LS. Nevermind a ton of money. If you have the time, space, money and resources to do it, then go for it. But if not, you've been warned! :D

search for 'engine swap' or '4.6L' - ther are many thread on this topic.

the short answer - swap in a rebuilt or used 3.9L V8 (if that is truely your issue) unless you are going to try to new ground with a $project$

Replacement engine

First, understand that any engine replacement will cost several thousand dollars. With that said, I've seen what it takes to put in a 4.6 or other modular engines. McLaren had a contract from Ford to explore the necessary changes and they decided tha it would take a new hood or a new intake since the 4.6 is too 'tall. I'm called away at present, so look at the thread 'Land Speed LS' in the High Performance forum. Feel free to ask questions.
