engine

yeah - 2 1//2 hours after my post....

couple of things to think through:
-have you performed an engine swap before? This should not be too much different, most of the enginebay layout is the same
- the suspension is tuned differently between the V8 and V6 - so you will affected the balance without changing those components as well
- the cluster is different.

I'm sure you can reflash the PCM to an V8 - I do not know if things like the REM are unique or the same.

Probably be cheaper to sell the V6 car and buy one with a V8.

The swap will take twice as long and cost twice what you figure it will.

Very easy.

Step 1, put for sale sign in window of the V6
Step 2, buy a nice low mileage V8 LS

i'm loving my v6 stock. no mods to it and i can hear the pell out around corners if i floor it. i love to try the v8 someday but i'm happy with the 6-banger.

i've seen few posts and heard comments about engine swaps. when you do this, are you using a rebuilt one from a car grave yard or buying a brand new v8 engine from a dealer? basically, how do you get a hold of a spare engine that just happens to fit in your car (i would assume you can't just put any engine in a car frame)?

Fore some strange reason I started liking the V6 lately. It takes time to accelerate, but if you use the SST and feel the nice push at 4000rpms it makes you wanna do it again and agian. It's not like the Benz that push a bit and you are doing over 100 already.

Have you seen Monster Garage? You can put any engine in any car frame with the right modifications (sometimes completely rebuilding the frame). It doesn't mean that it makes any sense.

not with the LS's electronics.

Swap -
FEM
REM
PATs
Cluster
Driver door ECU
TC setup (yaw, tilt, dive)
....blah blah blah

Just like others have stated to many things to swap out. Can't just swap engine have to swap trans too sence bellhousings are different. WAY cheaper just to buy V8 car.

They took a brand new 350Z engine and put it into a 1975 Datsun Honeybee. They also put a Rolls Royce Viper MK22 jet engine in a Toyota Celica. I stand by my statement you can put any engine into any car. That doesn't mean it makes sense.
