Guys, in these days of OBDII and complex electronic systems an engine swap like we used to do in the 60's and 70's just isn't practical anymore. Sure, with enough time and money anything is possible, but you'll spend more money trying to make something work than just buying a high performance car in the first place. Or, just save your money, buy a 60's or early 70's muscle car and play with that. Even here in the People's Republic of Kahleefornia the only engine replacement you can do is with an engine that came stock with the model. With the LS the only thing we can do is put the V8 in the V6 car, or vice-versa.

Face it boys. What Lincoln gave to us (a very competent luxury sporty sedan) is what we are "stuck" with! Without beaucoup dollars the LS will never be a drag car. Enjoy the LS for what it is!!

Theres TONS of easy swaps you can do(acura, honda, DSM's, etc). True, theres a lot less cars capable of engine swaps(assuming you would like all components to work).

The LS is the only Ford to use the REM as the FPDM - there is a lot of heavy lifting to swap all these things. The gauge cluster and the PATs are also connected to the bus, not to mention the FEM, ABS/TC control, ...etc

Could you simply use the LS as a shell and completelty rewire it to by-pass the existing systems - sure - but once you swap motor, trannie, diff, all the computer (seven of them), gauges, PATs, ...etc - you have a car without ABS, traction control, likely no SRS system (seat belt tensioners, air bags), hacked up dash gauges, ...etc

I love the looks of the car, but at that point you might as well spend the money on something you can also swap aftermarket suspension parts, brake components, ...etc with.
