Just put a new fuel pump in after being towed home twice in one day. Changed the main computer the took code reader to it and it said the fuel pump failed. Now I start it and it still runs for 5 minutes and stops? New fuel filter last year.
Help? Thoughts?

You might have a bad fuel pump driver module (FPDM) located above the passenger side rear wheel well in the trunk.

You can install a jumper wire between the White (W) wire and the Pink/Black (PK/BK) wire. Install a second jumper wire between the Brown/White (BR/W) wire and the Black (BK) wire.

Turn the ignition switch to the run position and drive the car to verify that fuel pressure maintains at the fuel rail.

If fuel pressure continues to drop under acceleration, verify that battery voltage is maintaining at the W wire of the FPDM connection and that ground is maintaining at the BK wire.

Have that circuit serviced or replace the fuel pump as needed.
If the engine runs good as long as the jumper wires are installed to bypass the function of the FPDM, replace the FPDM.

Sounds Good

I'll give it a try. Your answer makes sense. I bought the Mark in 2005 and the code reader has always reported something negative about the fuel pump failing so with the new fuel pump, same problem = module.

Thanks
Larry
