My engine coolant fill cap apparently has spider web cracks in it, very small. enough not to hold pressure though. My engine doesnt over heat, but i dont have any heat. Im thinking its created an airpocket that wont go away. It was low so it must leak coolant out to a certain point where it cant pressurize the system enough to cause more coolant to leak. also i dont think my hoses build pressure. Does this seem logical and everything related? Its very odd. but i think its whats causing the problem.

I filled it up with coolant and then it starts to pressurize and seep out through the cracks in the cap. This cap is supposed to be able to take pressure right? I dont think my t-stat is stuck as the engine operating tempurature is normal. When the engine is running is kind of freaky, sounds like its breathing, exhaling every so often

If I saw cracks in my cap I would replace it and go from there. Even if it's something else, you have a bad cap so it needs to be replaced anyway.

yea i have one comming, beleive it or not dealerships dont stock them. hopefully its here soon. I really hope its my issue.

The heat stopped working last night, then it worked again this morning. So im pretty sure its an airpocket and not the DCCV.

yea ill do that, i checked the heater core bleeder hose befor. and it just kinda dribbled out. it was a solid flow, but i piss with more force then that. I assume it should have some sort of pressure?

ah, well...i tried the old mcgeiver routine. put a plastic bag over it, then screwed the cap on. viola...heat and pressure. now it just needs more coolant and to be bled better. and of course the new cap.

i needed a refrence and it was true.

My heat is better but im still loosing some heat while stopped/idling. i dont know, its better. hopefully this car will be gone tomorrow :)
