Question about an electric fan/hydraulic pump delete install for a 00 LS V8.

With the old hydraulic system there are 2 cooler lines attached. From my u the hydraulic system utilized the cooler.

What do I do with the cooler line?

Also, the auxiliary cooler, is it separate (since the new fan is electric) or do I need a new one?

And, do I need to plug the return line to the cooler at the cooler?

Any clarification would be appreciated. Kinda confusing atm

I swapped my hydraulic fan system for electric using a Derale fan shroud, a couple of Perma-Cool 19111 fans, and a proform 69595 fan controller. You can remove the hydraulic fan pump, reservoir, and the lines, and then you would just need a shorter belt to make up for the missing pulley. I have been running this setup on my '00 3.9 for more than 3 years without issue. One thing to note, these cars only have a 110 amp alternator, a lot of aftermarket fans can put a huge load on the electrical system, so be mindful of that.

Somewhere on the LS section of this page is a writeup where someone else bypassed their hydraulic system and gave the correct length belt for the job, if I come across it again, I'll let you know.

Also, just to be clear, the hydraulic fan system is completely separate from the power steering system, contrary to what many believe. Removing the hydraulic fan pump only affects the hydraulic fan system.
