Wiring question for the Derale 16833 dual electric fans. This is for a 2000 V8 3.9L LS

Everything is almost complete and after a few suggestions and posts from the past I went with the Derale 16789 Dual High Amp Fan Controller.

My question is, where do you put the thread-in probe?
(I know some of them have a small slide in prob that goes into the radiator I believe but the instructions for this one aren’t clear)

Or if you did this job where did you put yours?

I searched my 2005 LS service manual (CD) and couldn't find the info. Enter the following into Google search and see if it helps:
"where is the coolant temperature sensor that operates the electric fan located on lincoln ls 3.9l"

You do realize that I’m installing an electric fan since the generator 1s originally came with the hydraulic fan system. So with that being said there is no coolant temp sensor that operates an electric fan

Does the instruction sheet say anything? If not I would call Derale and get their tech people on the phone. I am sure this has come up before and I would check the instructions one more time just in case they do tell you what to do.

I found the instructions in about 30 seconds. Please see the attached. You do have these correct?
Here is what they say about installing the temperature probe. This was taken from the attached instructions.

Seems straight forward?

I should’ve been more clear (and that’s my fault). I’ve also already tried contacting Derale and via email and phone calls. I get the run around and placed on hold when I call and no response to emails. Which is why I’m here hoping that someone has done this conversation and can provide some knowledge.

I’ve seen comments where they say not to put the probe up top cause it won’t get a proper reading. But instead place it near the lower radiator hose. Also, idk everyone’s views on sticking the probe into the radiator itself (as I’ve seen with other controllers).

Do you find it easier for these electric fan controllers to get proper readings when the probe is near the intake manifold, cylinder heads, or the lower radiator hose? Where is the best option to put the probe to get the best results?
