E-Town Open

Regretfully backing out on this meet. They are making me work late today and it will be 8:00 before i can get there. I'm going to run it once before i deploy, though.

The altitiude @ Englishtown is 178 ft.

As of 9 a.m. the DA is -700, pressure is 30.05 and rising. Let's hope that holds up!

Dammit, just got back from Jersey with my Mark. I grew up in Hazlet. Hung at the track all the time since the 70's. My buddies still go to the Nationals every summer (without me). Wish we had a track like that here. My old ride here would attract as much attention in the pits as a Top Fuelers back in the day!

That is a sic car....you dont still have it do you?

Hell yea..that's some very good conditions...
GO GET EM DLF!

BTW, Drag Times has a nice site that gives track elevations, historic weather conditions, DA, and corrected times.

- See Tommy, I knew you were jealous of E-Town!! lol BTW - I'd much rather live in Texas than NJ.

DLF - stop posting on the internet and go get that SC ready!!

Gotta go wash my car now so it looks at least somewhat presentable next to one of DLF's cars.

It's ready, but not very clean :(

I'll be there @ 5 with the SC, hoping to break into the 12's!

I called the track, and they're planning to run tonight as scheduled.

DA is now -661. :D

Got into the 12's

Met Ken and saw his LSC.

DA was -912 ft.

Got the SC into the 12's for the very first time. :)

Had another 12.951 earlier in the evening.

Next time, I'll get the LSC into the 13's. ;)

Here's a link to a movie of one of my passes that Ken took. :)

Too bad the announcer doesn't know what a Super Coupe is. :(

LOL at announcer. Nice SC, I sometimes wish I'd waited to find a 94-95 instead of my 90 but finding one with a 5spd is impossible. Too bad you're on the other side of the country or we would have to run 'em (I think I'd have to run some dry ice in the intercooler to stay close though.)

Fun night at the track!

My best time of the night was 14.687@96.16mph. This was off my best time of 14.4......probably because I wasn't running premium gas :( My other 2 runs were 14.7's. The only mod I have is a LMS cat-back exhaust.

Just so you guys are clear, the 2 other MN12's there..........A 12-second Super Coupe and a MANUAL transmission Mark VIII?! The manual transmission Mark VIII ran a best of 15.0 (I think), it has some tune issues........and why wouldn't it, there are only a handful of these done in the country. The install of the tranny looked great. I can't wait to see what this car runs when Mike works out the tune and the wheel hopping. That same Mark also had a cobra intake.

Ken

Thread no good without pcs

Look above for the video I took of the 12-second SC.

Here's the intake in the manual tranny mark.....

I would have brought my camera had I known a manual tranny mark would have been there?!?! :(

DLF - did you get any pics of Mike's 5-speed install? I'm sure pics of that are up here somewhere. If not, Mike get them up here!

They're actually 4.11s, and yes it's still an 8.8... I believe they're Yukon brand. I'm just gonna change it to say 4.10s to make it easier.

As for the Apollo, all I have are these 2 from the previous owner. It's come a ways since then but it's still just as ugly... I haven't painted it yet and it's front clip is off (Nova fiberglass front clip will be going on.) It's stuck in storage until I get the space and money to finish it, so no new pics...

The weather next Wednesday looks like it's going to be good, so I'll probably take the LSC out and see what it will do. :)

If anyone else is interested, please let me know.

Here's a quick pick. Turns out my car was leaning out. I now have an SVT focus pump in there, and it is running much better, so next time at the track I should do better.
