Well, I took Magnatude ('94) out today, to stretch her legs, after a 6 month long hibernation. Came back home after a few laps around the block. I park her and proceed to engage the parking brake and to my surprise, the e-brake would not latch. Never had this problem before.

Tried several times but it would not catch or lock into place.

Anyone ever had this happen to your Gen1 Mark?

Likely either a snapped cable or the adjuster slipped/stripped. Time to get under there and have a look.

Thanks for a quick response Rod. I did not get a chance to look under the car this morning but I drove her to work. I will look later tonight when I get home.

The e-brake pedal would spring back out real strong so would that mean the spring and cable are still intact and in one piece?

Car seems to be mechanically sound. She fired right up the first time yesterday. Has good acceleration and stops well, though she feels
alot different from Octane in some respects.

I have a broken cable in my 95 and it still will lock down.
So I'd look at the pedal assembly itself.

It was more of a surprise to me than anything. Got it to catch after pumping the pedal 10 times while in park mode.
