So I was searching apps yesterday on my iphone and came accross a pockect dyno that looked pretty cool so I did some research and it actually seems to work just like the G-tech but a helluva lot cheaper. I bought it on the app store for 12 bucks. Here are some details about it if anyone is interested.

•0-60 Acceleration
•Other Speed Tests (0-10 MPH through 0-100 MPH in 10 MPH increments)
•1/4 Mile Elapsed Time
•1/4 Trap Speed
•Elapsed Time and Trap Speed for standard intervals (60′, 330′, 1/8 Mile, 1000′)
•Lateral G’s (current and peak)
•Braking G’s (current and peak)
•Horsepower (wheel and/or estimated crank)
•Friction Circle (max G’s in 16 directions)
•Downloadable Timed Run Graphs
•Downloadable Skidpad Graphs
Results Presentation
•Real-time Speedometer and Graphs
•Real-time Friction Circle and Graphs
•View results for latest test run or any saved run
•View averages based on vehicle, date, or modification
•Compare results between vehicles, dates, or before-and-after modifications
•Export Graphs for Timed Runs or Skidpad Runs
Configuration
•Rollout 0″ to 24″ (separate settings for 0-60 and Quarter Mile tests)
•Stores vehicle weight and drivetrain efficiency in your vehicle’s profile
•Calibration routine gets the maximum accuracy possible with the built-in acceleromters

With all the stuff it does you really can't beat the price. Here's the website www.dynolicious.com/

I haven't had time to use it yet but I should have some time over the weekend to play around with it. I bought a G-tech Proo SS for 300.00 2 years ago and I didn't like it much so I sold it on Ebay. It seemed to complicated for everyday use but this looks so easy a caveman could do it lol.

I just found this article from Road & Track.

Speed Zone
By Douglas Kott
Portions reprinted from Road and Track February 2009

Sure, we at Road & Track make it our business to performance-test any enthusiast-worthy car that showes up on our doorstep. But suppose you want to generate these figures yourself? With the typical 401(k) looking more like a .401(k) these days, it doesn’t make sense to rush out and spend thousands on a Racelogic VBOX GPS-based system, the anodized blue beauty that we use to generate the acceleration and braking figures that appear in our Road Test Summary.

So here’s a sampling of less expensive alternatives, tested simultaneously aboard a Dodge Charger SRT8 and compared against our VBOX system in the nearby chart. Note that the numbers across the board are slower than our typical road-test times, as we made the runs two-up - with International Editor Sam Mitani riding shotgun and running the iPhone - and the traction control engaged for the sake of repeatability. Although we’re not getting rid of our VBOX any time soon, we came away impressed with the accuracy of these devices… well with the exception of Sweet Leilani.

Dynolicious Software for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch
With accurate accelerometers built into the latest iPhone and iPod touch, it was only a matter of time until someone came up with a “killer app” for the amateur road-tester, and Dynolicious has stepped up to the plate. Assuming you already own an iPhone or iPod, it’s cheap and has superb color graphics enabled by Apple’s 480×320-pixel resolution screen (for the 3G). That means color-coded graphs that practically leap off the device.

Dynolicious records the usual suspects (0-60, 1/8-mile, 1/4-mile, lateral and braking g’s) and offers graphs and friction-circle displays that can be played back or viewed in real time. You can export timed runs or skidpad runs to your computer. Dynolicious is supported by a website forum, and you can subscribe to a newsletter for help and ispiration. Chalk up another cool and clever use to the iPhone. We’re told you can use it to make phone calls, too.

i jusdt downloaded the app.. it seems awesome im gonna take it out right now
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

So I tried it about an hour ago but I didn't have it set up correctly. I had my phone laying on it's back when it should be standing up. I think I also need to change the weight of my LS in the setup menu. Once I do a few more runs I think it might be a pretty cool and cheap tool to have. One cool thing about it is that you can upload your results to your computer. Here is my run I just did.
