Dual Lincoln Citezenship

Nothing wrong with lovin your car. Not everyone will agree on what cars to love. I have that problem and too many.

And ILLS, us diehard Mark guys enjoy a challenge, we love our cars, even with all the headaches they give us. Not to mention, their just soooo damn pretty!

I understand you guys like your Marks. They are nice cars and have a drive-train that is easily built to large power and fast ET's. It just seems that some Mark owners have a certain ego. I swear it seems like some guys think they own a dang Kenne Bell Cobra or something. It is a middle/high 14 second luxo-barge in stock form which is nothing special and nothing fast; same as the LS. I understand being proud of the car you own but I think some Mark owners take the crap talking a little too far. Some of the LS crowd deserve it by bringing it on themselves. Others such as myself who have actually performed some pretty extensive power mods to the LS tend to see things in a different light.

LOL :D I agree 100% nail hit on the head :)
A car is what you make it......but in the end its still a car.

Marks with aftermarket rims/tires look sexxy but Marks with stockers still on look ugly as heck in my opinion. A good rim and tire combo can really make a car. I have always preferred the chrome Saleen rims for both Marks and Mustangs.

chrome saleens? what are those? he he he

Hey Sully remind me to smack you for callin the Mark a beater :p

I thought of getting a newer car and parking the mark, so I test drove the V8 LS, took it down a windy road, got back to the dealer, got back in my mark, and had no more new car thoughts. They're nice cars though. Maybe cause I'm a small guy and felt that the cabin was too tall. Either way, opinions exist because people have different preferences.

Nah... but try bolting a KB on a Mark VIII and one on an LS and see what happens. ;)

thats the thing... the KB will go on the Mark..... the LS you have to get all kinds of creative to find ways to get that kind of power

Nah, I already have a turbocharger on the LS and a Kenne Bell on my other vehicle. No need for me to bolt a KB onto a Mark also.

Also, with my abilities and dealer contacts/pricing I am sure I could fabricate a Kenne Bell to work on an LS just fine so don't tempt me.

They gotta be lowered too, otherwise, the wheels are just different.

The point is the Mark guys have the aftermarket support that the LS guys don't, because the vast majority of enthusiasts don't have the fab skills required for a turbo LS or QuikLS's M90, etc. Not that the Mark is some kind of supercar, just easier to make it run a 12.

It may be easier for the average Joe to make a little quicker but that doesn't warrant any kind of "I got bigger balls" attitude from some of the Mark owners. After all the Mark is nothing special. Some of the Mark owners talking tough is about as retarded as a stock V6 Mustang owner talking all big and bad about their cars performance. It is nothing special so I do not see the point for any kind of tough-guy attitude to follow. Some have been made to be pretty quick but most of the people talking crap are not those guys. Truth be told, I believe the attitude that is displayed by some Mark owners to be downright hilarious considering the performance of the vehicle they are bragging about. I am not bashing the Mark itself in any way just stating what I have observed about some of the Mark owners.

That might be true, but look at some of the LS owners and all that bling bling :yuck:
After all its a four door family car they think is some kind of pimp machine ;)

the LS like the BMW and various others ARE chick magnets..... but to say all that bling that some LS owners put on them has no bearing when you take into consideration all the bling some people put on many less deserving cars. When an 88 caprice has 24" chrome spinners, the LS with a set of nice 20's is not the eye sore your giving it the rep for. When it comes down to it, we all want our cars to look nice, and who ever decides to put the bling all over their car (whatever it is) is what they think looks nice. The discussion was more performance oriented... at least thats what I thought any way. I havent let the nuts sag on the mark yet, but based off of knowing how they are made, the Mark should be faster but not handle as well. I'll wait till I really get into the Mark a bit to say either way for sure. And as far as easy to make a 12sec car.... neither of them is difficult. The mark needs a bottle, the LS needs a bottle and a posi.

I completely agree with you there. It seems allot more of the kids that are only interested in the show and not so much of the go look for the LS. I drove past an LS earlier this morning that had big ol rims and all sorts of extra chrome trimming Pep Boys add-on crap. Also had the infamous 20" big emblems on the front fenders. As if I didn't already notice the size of the rims??? Regardless, the difference is that those idiotic kids who put dumb mods on their LS usually do not give others attitude about what vehicle they prefer to drive. The same cannot really be said for some of the diehard Mark owners I have encountered.

Right, they're too stupid to appreciate what they drive. Thus, they give others attitude about 'not havin dubz yo!'

But hell, since you seem to want to make this a pissing contest...

LS forum: How do I wire up my quad 12" subs and headrest screens?
Mark VIII forum: KB or Vortech?

Who said anything about making this a pissing contest? I have been stating my experience with some of the Mark crowd as well as talking a little about the "average" LS crowd and that is all. If you take personal offense to that then you might need to lighten up a little. Attitudes like the one you are now displaying are what I am talking about. What does the mods that people talk about installing on their cars have anything to do with the attitude they give others? Looks like an apples to oranges comparison there.

As I have said before, there is a difference between preferring one's own car and actually talking crap about another's choice in their own car. I see too much crap talking going on and that is just ridiculous and unnecessary child talk. Whether it is coming from the Mark crowd towards the LS owners or the LS owners back at the Mark crowd it is not needed. I believe that fellow Lincoln owners should actually be enough of real enthusiasts to not disrespect something else besides their own choice. After all, any other way of acting is really quite petty.
