Right here ;)
I have to really pull to get it open, feels like something is lodged in the mechanics.... really weird. It is not lose, or out of alignment, not dangling, and has not given me any problems prior to this... confusing! I really hope it isn't on it's way to breaking.

I am going to try and take the panel off tomorrow to see if I can eyeball anything...

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

outside handle, or inside handle?

if its the outside handle, its probably just broken. i've broken like 4 total.

outside... I've broke a few also... that is why this is weird, doesn't feel broke, feels like something is stuck in there... also no visible signs of being broke...and trust me, I baby those outside door handles!

I shot some lub in there, but made no difference... slammed it real hard to see if anything would jar loose, nothing...

dang dang dang!!!!

Yup, sounds like its broken. Mine did the same thing just before it broke off. Happened 3 days after I got the car.

mine cracked and would get wedged sideways sometimes. maybe this is the lodged feeling youve got.

buy a 2nd gen.

is that more cost effective than the cost of say, a trunk load of door handles? I flunked math and economics. rainman has better math skills Lol! I'm gonna take an uneducated guess and say they both cost about a dollar and both are available at K-Mart. LMAO!!! that is some funny sh!t!!! as far as what is wrong with your door handle Ms. Gina, I have had to replace the drivers side once since 1999 so I would say it's a catastrophic failure, and the only reason to buy a Gen 2.

thanks Sap - but after wigglin, lubin, caressing, going to pick n pull discovering the one there had a broken (previously replaced also) door handle on it too...I came back out to find it functioning perfectly....it feels fine now.... weird. I am not gonna screw with it. no, really appreciate the offer!!!

jc - jamie likes harassing me about not downgrading to a gen II... lol.. but I like your logic!!

Thanks for all the help hotties!!! Hopefully I won't have to reopen this thread!!!

Smooches!!

I was just offering you my handles from my Gen1...those things are such turds

Have you ever owned a Gen2 Deb?

lol, no she hasnt, she cant appreciate the finer things in life. she likes the old ones, then sells them when they are so tired they dont work right anymore!! they leave on tow trucks, like all the gen 1's that left my shop for the scrap heap lol!!

debi you know its strictly harrassing you, just like you said!

I loved my 93, thing was really quick...but the Gen2 with the Superchip is just about as fast..and worlds more comfortable

I have no plans on fixing the 93 now

well jamie jamie jamie....How bout this - I will pick what I want from both gen's and you make it happen!!! from gen 1, I want interior and dash, but the fluff of the 2nd gen seats; I want gen 1's grill, but flexibility of gen 2's; from gen 1 keep the HIDS, dont give me bug eyes of the gen 2; keep my console of the gen 1, not the flat gen 2's; of course the gen 2 taillights I want - now, get that done and I will finish the list... I want the best of both worlds!!!

Thanks so much Sap - I really appreciate the offer, and honestly am hesitant to say not at this time, been thinking about just finding a black set and keeping them in the shed ... sooner or later they will come in handy!

Thanks sooooo much again Hottie!!

MsM8

The only good thing about a Gen1 console is that it'll actually HOLD a cup, but there's no double-din room in the dash, so you can't use a Nav deck (unless it's a flip up) door panels are way sexier on a Gen2 even down to the tear drop light.

I do still like the Gen1 front end, however I don't care for the lights unless they are HID. if I had HID lights in my 93, I would probably swap the whole front end to my 98
