:shifty:But i'm selling the Navigator and thinking about buying the wife an LS. It would be a V6 for better fuel economy, but I heard they require Premium. Is this true and does anyone run regular on theirs? Do they give you problems if you don't run premium? I run premium in her Navi, and in the Mark, but it's getting expensive and looking to put her in something that doesn't require a "fuel budget"

The cost of premium vs regular is a few bucks for a full tank and premium gives better mileage.

Its more expensive to run regular in the long run. Also the LS is a heavy car, so the V6 struggles to move it compared to the V8 and gets like 1-2mpg better overall compared to the V8 but with less power.

Both the V6 and the V8 require 91+ octane.

The most that you can hope for is 1 MPG better for the V6 than the V8.

Get the V8.

Ditto. I have both and the ~1-2mpg isn't worth the fewer horses. In my commute, my old 2000 V6 got ~20mpg. The same driving yields about 19mpg in my 2006 (V8) LS. I know the VVT helped with mileage, but not that much.

We are on to you...:D

But I agree, go for the V8, you're not going to save much.

19 mpg is still better than the 13 i'm getting right now. I'll look into V8's in the area. Trying to drop the $25,000 navi for a $4-5k car with better mileage. 4 doors are required for the kids and such, and the conti is a little too old.

And Pektel is right. I wanna go fast in my damn sexy Mark!!!

I still don't see what you see in them. So ugly

$25,000 for an 06 Navi? Sounds like a lot. How many miles on it?

I have a 2nd gen V6 and I run 89 on it with no issues. I tried regular but it ran very sluggish. When I find a gas station with 91 I put it in however.

I average 23 MPG and can get 400 on a tank
