Don't Shoot the Messenger

New one to the list:

Radio goes back and forth from AM to FM by itself.

Anyone else experience this problem?

Additional info.

Radio also goes into "mute", AM, FM, and CD mode by itself, so it's all over the place.

Cruise control seems OK. No other lights on the dash. Problem is just the radio (so far).

Still think it's the clock spring?

Thanks

Yup..... That's my bet....

Another one.

On my 2010 Explorer, on those REAL cold mornings, the airbag light stays on.

Go for a ride. Shut the car off, start it up, light goes out.

Another clock spring on the way out, or a sensor that doesn't like the cold?

Thanks

Yes, one of those two possibilities or an airbag ignitor that is failing, or a bad connector, or a wiring fault, or a bad RCM. In short, some more details are needed to narrow it down. Counting the SRS light flashes and getting the LFC would be a good start there. Of course, you should get better info from an Explorer forum.
