I know the bushing is cracked and needs to be replaced but this just dont look right. No bushing on top? These are T-Bird shocks and that the PO put them in but they look like the wrong order. I wonder if he burned/cut out the stock one to fit a T-Bird bushing in there. I am about to replace the rear shocks and was looking at getting new poly bushings but didnt want to deal with burning out the old ones cause I dont have a torch. IDK if the previous owner did that or what.

But this isnt done right is it?

I KNEW IT! The previous owner was a nice guy but he really had no clue what he was doing. Looks like that bushing that is crcked should have been on top under the upper washer.

Just to be sure for when I swap them.
Its top nut, washer, bushing, shock tower, shock plate, bushing, washer then shock right?

those arent factory mounts on the top of your shocks, those are something someone made, there used to be someone around these forums that made solid rear mounts, thats what yours look like, i can tell because the heads of the bolts have a bead of weld holding them to the plate, factory ones do not have that. i have a pair of factory rear mounts that are still in pretty nice shape, the shocks were toast so i kept the mounts and tossed the shocks.

So can I just get the Poly bushings from SCP then?
Right now the order of the mounting is:
Nut, washer, shock tower, bushing, washer, bushing then the shock.

No sense buying another mount since I am installing T-Bird Tokicos in it.

Hey stone17, any chance you can give me a shot of the underside? Curious to see where the other washer is located.

i dont have a bushing on top of my rear shocks, but thats cause the shaft on the Koni shocks is shorter than the factory shock, there was no room for the bushing..........just got the bushing underneath, 1+ year, not a problem

ill try to get a pic....

Yeah, I dont have any weird noises or clunks and I have put 30K on them of hard driving but it still urks me when people do crap wrong.

EDIT:shiryu0 I have seen your pic in that other thread. Nice setup/
