I have a friend with a Mark VIII and he wants to know if a double din will fit and if they sell a kit for it. Any pics would be great. Thanks in advance

Either you dont know what Im talking about or I dont understand you, but if you are trying to be funny, let me clarify. There is a kit for aftermarket stereos that audio shops sell. This kit allows you to correctly brace and mount an aftermarket radio into the same spot as an oem radio. I do not have a Mark, I have a LS so I have not gone to an audio shop to ask if they sell one for a Mark. The answer that I am looking for is yes (they sell them at audio shops e.g best buy, audiovice etc.) or no ( I had to make my own bracket to make it fit correctly)

Oh, I know what you're asking. You obviously don't understand what I'm poking fun at, so I'll try to clarify it for you. I'll even type slowly, so you can keep up.

SALE
sale |sāl| noun 1 the exchange of a commodity for money; the action of selling something : we withdrew it from sale | the sale has fallen through. • ( sales) a quantity or amount sold : price cuts failed to boost sales. • ( sales) the activity or business of selling products : director of sales and marketing. 2 an event for the rapid disposal of goods at reduced prices for a period, esp. at the end of a season : a clearance sale. • [often with adj. ] a public or charitable event at which goods are sold. • a public auction. PHRASES ( up) for sale offered for purchase; to be bought : cars for sale at reasonable prices. on sale offered for purchase : the November issue is on sale now. • offered for purchase at a reduced price. ORIGIN late Old English sala, from Old Norse sala, of Germanic origin; related to sell .

SELL

sell |sel| verb ( past and past part. sold |sōld|) [ trans. ] 1 give or hand over (something) in exchange for money : they had sold the car | the family business had been sold off | [with two objs. ] I was trying to sell him my butterfly collection.

If you still don't get it, then spelling pwns you. (Yes, it's spelled "pwns" on purpose.

To repeat what I originally said... I don't thik anyone SELLS anything like that. You really don't need it anyways. Only time you'd need something like an install kit is if you were putting a single DIN into a bouble DIN or 1.5 DIN opening.

din

He was making fun of your grammar. It’s not sale it's sell.

As far as I know I think most double din units come with brackets in the box with the radio. The double din should be an install and go. I don't know if there is any installation kit or not.

got to it before i could :D

you have to cut 1/4 inch on top of the opening for a double din to fit, just get the unit, measure, mark were youre gonna cut and cut away, all of those universal brackets and what not do not apply to a Mark VIII, unit just fits snuggly in the opening, on a Gen 2 like mine you may have to relocate the air bag module, i just had to push it up and reroute the harness to the buttons for the message center, and what i believe was the interior temp sensor.....hose???........i dont i just rerouted that thing, fits fine :D

I don't think Mark VIIIs have bouble DIN CD players.
