ok i've been noticing that the display will randomly tell me what the "autolamp" time is set for, or when i turn the car on some times it will tell me that the drivers settings are turned off when they are not. is it just random brain farts or is it something else????????????

My 98 Mark VIII does the same thing with the display but this happens 1-2 times weekly.....don't know why the message center does this either but I've gotten used to it.....If You find the problem please post....Thanks!

Yea same here with my Gen II except I don't use the memory seats much so it says off when they are off. The autolamp is just the way its programmed i guess, you need to be good where you leave the dial.

you arent accidently moving the switch on the back of the key fob are you?

Yea, just find a "tighter" sweet spot for the autolamp. Worked for me.

Mine does that too for the autolamp. I think it is the switch getting dirty/corroded and not making good contact.

Its probly loose or something cause my GenII dosent do that.

mine has thrown the 'autolights off' message couple times while driving........maybe 4-5 times since ive owned it, 3 years, no idea why
