my disc changer was working fine...

i hit CD the other day... it says no cd..

i eject the cartridge, pull out the cds, place them back in, and slide the cartridge back in....

hit Cd.. again... NO CD flashes..

is this common with these... ????

or am i just an idiot and missing something??

I have one of these (10 disk in trunk with double din headunit, JBL I think) that I got tired of, since it did the same stuff to me-I removed it and put in a JVC with a wired 12 disk changer in the same location in the trunk. Got it at Best Buy, with the install kit it was around $400, has a connector for MP3 and detachable face, sounds great.

My old head unit and changer are on a shelf in my garage gathering dust...

the stock changers suck, and with age this message you get is very common. just get rid of it and go after market, if you buy another factory one that works, it wont after long, they all do it and they all suck. buy one that plays mp3 and make your own cd's, it will take you a month to listen to all the music!!

Mine used to do the same thing. I got tired of it so I took it out & then took it apart. After tinkering with it for a while I got it to work & have not had any problems since.

When you eject the cartdrige if you look into the opening there is a piece that moves back & forth when the cartdrige is put in. Try to gently pull that towards the front of the opening & see if it does anything. I pulled that piece forward on mine, it made a click sound & has been working ever since.

Mine is now getting old too when I am off roading on the MN roads it will go to no cd odd how we can make a micro chip but cant make a good road
