and did the 98 lsc come with limited slip? i know my car did leave two black lines at one time!!! the only thing that can do that is a limited slip or a locker........is there a rebuild kit for this?i have read that it is not track lock. thank you

Ford only has TL as their LSD. So if you read that it does not have a Trak Loc then it dont have a LSD. Just an FYI, NO Mark VIII came with a LSD. They are all open diffs.

nope. no LSDs in any mark VIII.

my car leaves two every once in awhile and it's an open diff.
thats not to say your car didn't have a LSD installed. i don't know the history.

if the conditions are right most open diff rear ends will burn out with both wheels that doesnt mean anything. turn your wheel all the way to the right and try to blow a donut, it will be the blackest one wheel peel circle you ever saw. and most likely it will be about 20 feet in diameter lol. you do not have a factory posi, only way is if it was done by someone previously to you owning it.

You can use them. I have a 93 Cobra TL in mine. Have the clips and have removed the clips to see if they could be removed after pulling the axle into postition.
Some will swear only an IRS one can do that but .... well I did it.
Got over 15k on my TL and no noise or issues at all.

We need to get our C-clips str8. Mustangs and solid axles with LSD's have AXLE C-clips which keep the axles from falling out of rear end. IRS rear CV shafts have thin c clips on end of cv shafts these just give the CV a "snap" lock into the pumkin just like all front wheel drive 4 cly cars. An IRS LSD will have a little pocket machined into the side gears to hold the thin c-clips. Alot of peeps just put in a mustang LSD and no problems. Just for me I machined mine to have the pocket for the "Click".
