Did I pay too much for my LS?

You got ripped off!

You can't say that without knowing the option level and exactly when he purchased. My 06 sticker price was just over 49K. I purchased when the 07s (of other models) were coming out and Lincoln was offering about $12K in rebates. I think I paid around 36K. Maybe I could have done better, but I think it was worth it.

When you tried to return it, they actually took it back? Is there lemon laws in your state or something? None of those here (there really should be)

technically, they came and drove it back because i refused to waste time bringing it to them. I bought it from a dealer that turned out to be under investigation for scamming people. MVA took the title when i went to register the car, and explained everything to me. cancelled the check, so no money was lost

@dNyce LS,

I seen your ad in the CL thread, hoping you will get another LS ?

Id have to say yes. It wont be for some time tho. Ill be in basic training so i wont be needing a car for a while

Next car will more than likely be an 06 in white, and/or a new optima

basic training ? you mean training on how not to get into accidents with an LS ?

ahhh just kiddin' you man, hope you get another LS when your ready.

Ha, I have one of those, have all the letters and I'm near you.
however, you can grab those off any LS sitting in the scrap yards,
just phone some of them and ask if they'd be willing to separate with the lettering only.

You have an extra "N"?

I was looking at kennyupull -- they had two LS in December. But it was cold and full of snow, so I was like f**k it, I'll come back when snow melts. I went last week and the two Lincolns were gone. Seems they only keep cars for max. of 6 weeks and then scrap them. So now I have to wait until they get the next ones. But there was a ton of parts I wanted to pull.

Do you maybe have two center caps too? When I was putting on winter tires, dude at Midas said he couldn't get the center caps on because they were too rusted. Now I'm missing two on the back wheels. On ebay they're $25/ea + $25/ea shipping. I don't feel like paying $100 for that :shifty:

were you by chance on Clyde Ave, heading towards Carling yesterday around 3:30PM'ish ?
turning left onto a side street at the lights, had a passenger ? LS greenish or grayish in color ?

If so, i was in a Silver LS and flashed my fogs at ya but you didn't notice cuz you were concentrating on making the left turn across lanes.

Was that you ?

Nope, in that time-frame I was at work. Must have been my neighbor a few houses down, he's also got a silver LS.

I was on my way to Active Components picking up Load resistors and had just come from the Ford/Lincoln dealership on Carling ordering my thermostat.

Was going to go there to get a resistor for my stereo. Seems they close at 5 or something -- I can never make it before close. Usually I wake up at like 3 pm :D

Well......

I paid just over $40K for our first '06 (X-plan) with ~30 miles on the odo. I paid just over $30K for our 2000 V6 with ~50 miles.

I was wondering if anyone paid full price :D Well, if you've got the money for it, I don't see the problem.

Would you buy a Lincoln new nowadays? Or did you stop caring about Lincoln after they discontinued the LS?

That wasn't anywhere near full price. The sticker was over $49K; add T&L and it would have been well over $50K!

Nope. FMC has NOTHING that I would purchase. Hyundai is on my short list, as well as Jaguar, (heaven forbid) BMW and Infiniti.

You have an extra "N"?

I don't have an extra N, I have only the whole LINCOLN letters cuz I'm running debadged.
It would pain me to give up even a single letter of it. I will however be on the look out for your N as well.

I also make it to Kenny's from time to time, both locations (across the water)

I missed the second one, I only saw the Pewter colored one with the all yellow dust inside it.
I pulled some parts went back not even 2 weeks later and it was gone.

They keep them two months I was told.

On their site they have a "new arrivals" listing which is updated daily.
We could share info and make certain we both don't miss any.

No sorry I do not.

Might be that Silver one I seen for sale on Kijiji.
either way, tell him to wreck it so we can go to Kenny's and yank parts! LOL (j/k)

I have lots of spare letters if anyone needs any, I bought my 04 Ls with 44k miles for 7k, got rid of it though. It was nice, fast, loud(straight piped) but 4 doors aren't for me

I got my 04 in September with 19k miles, all options except navi and rear sensors, for $9,000

How did you "de-badge" -- a screw driver? Was there any marks on the light after you removed the lettering?

I might remove the lettering to even it out. Cheaper than paying $20 to buy a letter.

Also would make it more conspicuous if I find myself in a hit-and-run because no one would know what I'm driving. When I bought the car, I thought the logo meant oldsmobile :facepalm

I've used dental floss before to remove badges.
