People in RFD forums said I paid too much. I bought my 2002 LS V8 in Aug. 2012 for $6450 + tax. Had 49,000 miles and looks mint (no rust anywhere). Besides the bad gas mileage and need for some new tires, everything is working (I'm going to be replacing the coils asap).

Looks like the driver side mirror was repainted at one point. Beyond that everything was fine until an idiot drove into me in Nov. and total cost was $5K in repairs, rentals, et al. Insurer didn't want to fix the chrome on my bumper :( Woman made it all scratched up.

Woman drove into me because instead of stopping at red light, she turned around to talk to her daughter in the back seat.

Are you happy with the purchase price? If yes then you didn't pay to much. If you feel like you got ripped off then you paid too much.

The woman who hit you should be nominated for parent of the year award.

I think you did ok. Maybe overpaid just a bit. Sub $6k would have been about right for a clean low mileage gen I

you paid kbb price...which is fine, but as long as its in good shape your fine... yes there are cheaper ones out there, but many need thousands in work...like said before, if your happy, thats all that matters

It's a non-sport (non-LSE duh) V8 IIRC. Has chrome on bumpers, and seemingly aftermarket exhaust.

Is that 49k km or miles? I paid a bit more for my '03 with 118k km 3 years ago :shifty:

Last summer I paid $6500 for my 02 with 65k Miles. There are better deals out there. I see Gen2s with less miles selling for less money. I guess it comes down to what's available in your area at the time you're ready to buy.

Was this from a dealer? I only buy from private sellers, I bought mine from a relative for trade in value. Buying privately is the best way to go IMO.

Back in 08 i paid 6800 for a 2000 v8 non sport with 74k. Before that, i paid 3400 for an 02 v6 base (didnt know any better) with 130k (this car was returned a week later)

I got my 02 v8 back in 09 for about the 6800 as well. Had 70k on it.

Wasn't the best price, but it was the best I could find in my area at the time.

I got my 02 LSE with 80k for 6800 in december. Id say you got a good deal, nice low miles!

01 V8 Sport, 151098 Kms (93888 miles), January 2012, 2 new sets of tires, front brakes,
ball joints, rear end links, wheel alignment, satisfied and E-test included. paid $4600 cash.

Bugged him for two weeks for the OM, never got it.
He didn't get his Samsung BT ear piece I found in the console back.

....EDIT: actual purchase date & miles correction (checked paperwork)

when did this turn into, "I paid...so and so" lol

I paid $14.5K for my 03 LS V8 premium sport with 70k, every single option available, summer 2007 :shifty:

You don't want to know what I paid. Overpaid a bit.

Paid 15,800 for an 06 loaded with 46k in 2011

Yeah, I didn't have to make any repairs, so it really worked out better than my last car purchase ($250 repairs in first week; car dead by week 3 and need $1600 in repairs).

If its an LSE you got a steal! IMO

Na, just a standard I think. I'm even missing an "N" from the "Lincoln" badge on the rear. Haven't wanted to spend the $20 on ebay to replace it :D

Yeah, miles -- 79,000 km. Also paid in Canadian dollars. I'm sure in the US the same car would have sold for $500 less or about there.

I really wanted something with low km because I wanted to use it for a while before doing any repairs. But I think there might be a ton of things that need replacing at this point. Steering is a little whacky -- either the ball joints or power steering fluid, or both. Weird sounds now and then -- when turning it sounds like rubber is brushing up against something. I was idling the other day at McD's and hear a weird sound -- when I shifted to Neutral it went away, so it only appears in D. It went away after a while, could have been a rain thing.

How do I know if it's Gen1 or Gen2?

My relatives don't have nice cars -- most take the bus. Was from a used car place in Ottawa called "Wallace Auto". Really good people there. Just down the street from a bunch of f###ers who robbed me on my first vehicle purchase.

When you tried to return it, they actually took it back? Is there lemon laws in your state or something? None of those here (there really should be).

Pretty good considering all those repairs. Are you a mechanic/have access to a garage? You seem to know a lot about the parts.

What's OM?

Ha, I have one of those, have all the letters and I'm near you.
however, you can grab those off any LS sitting in the scrap yards,
just phone some of them and ask if they'd be willing to separate with the lettering only.

Ahh, actually, I bought it from the previous owner with all that work done due to a safety.
He had to replace the for mentioned in order to pass the safety.

I replaced the front brakes within one month as they were crappy cheap parts
and were making too much noise and not stopping enough.

I have two long time buddies that are mechanics, one not so much drunk as the other.
My neighbor across the road runs a Pristine Auto Restoration business,
I thus have some access to garages, tools, experience & knowledge.

I do not know all that much about LS parts or such, learning here on LVC though.

@LincolnLS_2013,

Say, were you by chance on Clyde Ave, heading towards Carling yesterday around 3:30PM'ish ?
turning left onto a side street at the lights, had a passenger ? LS greenish or grayish in color ?

If so, i was in a Silver LS and flashed my fogs at ya but you didn't notice cuz you were concentrating on making the left turn across lanes.

Was that you ?

I was on my way to Active Components picking up Load resistors and had just come from the Ford/Lincoln dealership on Carling ordering my thermostat.

That's a lot less than I paid for either my 04 or my 06. (Of course, they were both with 0K.)

I paid $17K out the door for an '06 in May, 2009 with ~32K miles and every option save side curtain airbags.

Wow, I guess I overpaid, had 78,000 miles on her and paid $7,000 for a 2003 LS Premium sport but what a sweet ride she is......I love it! although I will have to replace the the water neck I guess I thermostat housing won't tightin down. I had a small leak that now is a big leak...lol

Well......

I paid just over $40K for our first '06 (X-plan) with ~30 miles on the odo. I paid just over $30K for our 2000 V6 with ~50 miles.
