so i went to get an estimate today and i wanted to ask if it sounds reasonably priced. so this is what i plan on blacking out:
1.front bumper trim
2.rear bumper trim
3.rear license plate trim
4.the outside of my front grille (leaving the bars chrome)
5.all 6 B pillars

all of this for $350. the only thing is that they do not guarantee the job just do to the fact that the guy said he's not sure if it'll hold up to rock chips on the freeway. he said he would sand it, put a reflixive something (can't remember) and then spray it. regardless, does that seem like a fair price? he says he needs to take the bumpers off to do the job.

All 6 B pillars? Aren't those chrome pieces just put right on top of black paint? And the paint will not hold up on those chrome pieces on the bumbers and surround. Take the bumbers off your self and save some money. He needs to remove the chrome out of them. The price is a little much, I got my Lse grille repainted for 20 bucks and the Mclaren grille as well.

You could probably do some kind of better deal with him if you wanted to. Like take off the bumpers yourself because that would save him time. Also you could do the sanding for him.

There's a shop by me that paints small stuff for free as long as I do the prep work and they can just shoot it when they have another black car in there.

hes gonna break the clips that hold the bumpers on just like I did when I took the chrome off. Tell him 250.....you gotta haggle man.

Not bad, and he's right about not being sure it'll stand up. At least the rear stuff you won't have to worry about.

honest man just do it yourself. I got the exact paint to match my car got the right primer and did it all myself and i am happy with it.

just sell car and buy an lse. thats what i did. except i forgot to sell car and now have 2 ls's ... o poor me :)

that's what i figured about the rear but i know my front takes beatings especially on the the freeway.

now you got me thinking i can do it myself. did you remove the trim or just did it right on there? where can i get the paint? and do i need a paint gun?

lol, i'd much rather keep my LS than purchase another one.

When I had my rockers and rear chrome painted they used a new dupont paint, I believe, and it is warrantied for 1 year
