I've been pulling dashes and interiors for quite some time now. The more I do it, the better I get at it. Even though I was able to do it just fine, and and got everything back in place, I've been doing it wrong. I would pull the dash out, leaving all the wires dangling on the floor. Taking time to snake out all the wires, and then taking time to snake everything back in place. That was the most time consuming. Now in my third dash swap, I am going from Prairie Tan interior to Ebony. I found the entire dash, carpet, seat belts, etc.. all for $100. To my surprise the dash had all of the wires still intact. After some close investigation, I see where the wire harness goes to the bulkhead, and connects to the engine harness. There you go, always learning.

makes me want to find a clean black lsc and fly you out to swap my current into the new :)
 
are you selling any of the prarie tan stuff? I too will fly you out to swap my interior in the future.
 
I had to swap the remove the harness from the Prairie Tan, because the harness on the Ebony dash had the transmission connectors cut. I don't want do any splice jobs.

4 hours for a blend door but a whole inteior in 6??? i can do a blend door in 60 minutes, and i have proved it to a few members here, just ask my great 8, i did his while he sat in the driver seat and watched! ford charges 8.6 hours for a blend door, thats f-ing bulls--t

I saw it right off when I got everything. I knew it was going to have to be done. It only took 15 minutes to take the harness off. I swear though, those plastic thingys that hold the wires in place along the back of the dash comes right off. I will be using zip ties now.
 
Heh, reminds me of when Brandon and I did an engine swap in my RX-7... unplugged every little connector from the engine harness, had to route every stupid little wire over again, had an injector connector go bad... only to realize the whole engine harness unplugs in one spot. As long as you learn eventually, no worries :D.

This is good to see, as someday I'll be doing the very same interior swap in my 98.
 
Eric, do you mean the two connectors that were cut off on the dash I bought? They were the transmission connectors. They feed through a hole in the floor down to the tranny.
 
Sorry about the confusion, I did the same thing too with my last dash a few years ago (snaked all the wiring out of it) Just where the connectors that the whole dash plugs into not the two that were cut off. If you don’t have a picture don’t worry about it.
 
Its going to be so BA. I cant wait to see it done. They should have had this color combo from the factory.
 
Ahh, but you don't know the half of it. This isn't happening to my CE. I couldn't mess with that interior. Check out the pics a few post up. You will see the CE in the driveway, and a Toreador Red in the garage. That's what's getting the Ebony.
 
The dash is no practically ready to put back in the car. Tomorrow, I will do a heater core and verify that the blend door is not damaged , and out the dash back in.
