Covers

As I said above somewhere ^^^

There is a reason, (besides VC gaskets), that Ford warranties these for 100k. In another thread, website etc. , it is said that the reason Ford started the warranty, was due to delamination of the epoxy, and outer shell. What causes this. Heat.

The coils are not a big deal. Theyre easy to change out, easy to get to on the V8 and even without the warranty they arent that expensive.

What you really need to worry about is the transmission failing, or the cooling system. The cooling system will fail at some point, and its around $1000 in parts for everything.

Best to start buying all the parts and replace them before it happens. Timing chains dont seem to be an issue with gen II.

100% Truth to that. Coils are childs play as compared to when your cooling system in the LS starts failing on you. Start saving full pay checks now, lol!

With the covers on, the water hits the wiring harness, for the coils, and migrates in under the cover.
Not if you follow the service manual instructions and seal the gap between the COP cover and the valve cover where the harness passes through. You're supposed to lay down sealant in the groove and on top of the harness when you reinstall the cover...
