coolant temperature gauge past halfway but car does not over heat

When should the fan turn on to the highest speed? Does it only do that when there's an issue or will it turn on to that speed when the air condition is on? When mine was overheating it would turn on to that speed, now that I have bleed the system it runs but has not hit that speed is this normal ?

Maximum fan speed will only happen when the engine is starting to overheat.

I still haven't gotten and coolant out of the bleeder line unless I squeezed one of the radiator hoses. Read and reread the instructions and wasn't impressed with how Ford wrote them.

Max speed only occurs when the engine temp is over 239.
(note, this information is only accurate for Gen 1. I have not inspected gen 2)

You're doing it wrong? I'll admit, it's not the easiest procedure in the world, but it's not terrible. I found it was easier if I parked pointing downhill.

Yeah, I derped the part about putting the degas cap back on after filling it. Just reread it (in the book) and it purged out correctly with the cap on...

So after a few days of bleeding the car has not overheated , thank you all

Quick question, took the car to the dealer, had a coolant flush, the removed all the air, car still over heats, fans work perfect, is this now a thermostat issue?

To be completely honest, I am getting bored with typing the same set of things to check over and over again. Please search the other posts on this. Your LS is not different from all the others with the same symptoms.
I also have to question if you really did correctly determine that your cooling fan is working correctly since you don't even know that you only have one fan.

Yes, it could be thermostat, but it could also be a dozen other things. The dozen other things fail more often than the thermostat (but the thermostats do fails sometimes too).

You didn't have to respond of you're tired and bored of typing responses and yes jack ass I'm aware there is only one fan under the hood of this car I apologize for placing an s at the end of fan

Did the dealer check for leaks? Does the fan work on all speeds? If there are no leaks and the fan works on all speeds then it could be the thermostat.

If you are going to beat up on the guy who's trying to help you then perhaps you should just deal with your dealer. Why would anyone let a dealer do a coolant flush? It's just easy money for them and will do nothing good for your engine.

Play stupid games, wind stupid prizes...

Actually, a coolant flush/change should be done every couple of years. There are additives in coolant (just like oil) that degrade over time. If not changed, the coolant will become corrosive to the aluminum engine. I let my dealer (or local shop) do it because I can't be bothered.

Exactly, it needed to be done, one to get the air out of the engine because I have not been able to successfully on my own and because because it's basic maintenance , the easiest way to ensure its done right is to have them do it, money isn't an issue when it comes to quality work that I know will be done right the first time, secondly I'm sorry if I offended anyone at all, I was in no attempt to beat up anyone, let's be honest this is an online forum for help, if he didn't want to help or give advice one could just not type a comment or reply, and yes to the question about fan speeds, the fan operates at all speeds no problem. The car has no leaks at all, engine is spotless, air blows too cold at times which is not a complaint, I really do appreciate everyone's help on this website, I have searched every forum and post about 20 times for my problem, even other websites every little bit helps
